Why is sparring such a big deal? It's not the real deal!

 

If hes getting the **** beat out him with 160z pillows on , can you imagine the outcome with 8oz knuckle dusters atsch

 

Mitchell on his form the other night would easily overwhelm the Burns we've seen of late.

 

If thats the case why wouldnt he be looking to avenge his loss ?? Any fighter that gets beat mostly wants revenge , theres a simple reason kevin has never went for a rematch

 

Ricky has the psychological edge over him, I bet he regularly beats him up in sparring, ricky is fitter and tougher and they are mates. And despite ricky apparently looking great in sparring and training, he ja still hasn't put up as good a performance of his destruction of kevin. But in my opinion, ricky has been found out of late, and he has never had the punch to turn a fight. That's why I rate and hope Kevin mitchell can take over the lightweight mantel of the UK even of head to head he loses to ricky. Mitchell just put up a career best performance against a so called dangerous fighter, he smashed him all over the ring, he carries power, skills and a varied attack. Mitchell can go 12 rounds and his chin isn't as bad as some may think. See the fight with johansson that was a war, Prescott and Murray are both good punchers as well and he wasn't troubled by them either. Katsidis caught an inexperienced mitchell, he took some big shots before it was stopped. The only problem I got with mitchell is his exposed chin when he throws that uppercut and hook, and his eagerness to stop his man, rather than break em down. But he has matured he's stronger and I have high hopes for him.

 

Kevs a nice lad , but what exactly you said the left hook and uppercut a decent fighter will expose and he will get kod at world title level again , however if he is ever gonna win a world belt its now as i dont rate Linares as a genuine lightweight

Linares has all the talent and every shot in the book, but Kev has the pop in his shots that could hurt him.

 

Why isn't Khan chasing Prescott?

 

As an unbiased judge it amazes me how easily Burns beat Mitchell. For me Kevin is the better fighter but if there's one sport that catches people out who take short cuts it's boxing!
