Im an American boy who enjoys world wide boxing. With that said, i enjoy my fighters overseas, whoever catches my eye. I finally got my hands on the fight between Kevin Mitchell and Carl Johanneson.

I like this kid Kevin Mitchell. He is very talented from the lookds of it. Has nice movement, nice hand speed, beautiful fluid combinations finishing with both hands in different spurts. Has anyone else seen this kid? 23 years old, good looking lad. He can make a splash in boxing. Any of my boys overseas can tell me about him?

Yes, il tell you that he will never be world class. Too many flaws, average defence, average power. Big heart and determined but will never make a big impression on a world stage. He was there for the taken in round 6 of that fight. European level at best for Kevin and after that he will struggle to win bigger fights unfortunally

Nah, I think Healy is selling Mitchell a bit short there. Whilst he's far from perfect, he i still improving big time. If you go back 4 or 5 fights, you can't compare that version to the one we have now. He's improving rapidly. If he continues to do that, focuses on his defence in particular, he could do some pretty big things in boxing.

Right now, he wouldn't get no where. However, 5 fights ago, how many people would have picked him to beat Johannson? He has got better and if he carries on getting better, who knows how good he'll become. He's a young fighter, has plenty of the attributes a champion needs, but isn't the finished article. Let him mature, and who knows.

kevin mitchell is exciting to watch and a very fluid boxer. puts together combinations ala sugar ray leonard. now dont jump all over the comment, im talking about the punches and their placement, not speed or power. im not saying hes an ATG already...i know how fickle some of you are.

mitchell also showed HEART against johannsen.

He can be good defensively but likes a scrap too much. I don't think he'll quite make world level but he's still young and can improve

    his mum needs gagging.

i'm thankful he's not a SMW. can you imagine the racket at ringside during a lacy-mitchell bout?

Slicknick nice to see you taking an interest in what is happening elsewhere. As everyone else has said, Mitchell has done well so far but has got loads to learn. Well worth keeping an eye on him, the next year or so will be interesting.

I think Mitchell will turn out to be fringe contender at best.

    Paul Appleby.

Remember the name - he is our best young prospect.

    Stop it!:nono :D

Actually I agree with Jack. He aint world class yet but he can be if he continues to improove.
Tighten up his defense and not trade when it dosen't suit him. A bit more tactical nouse which will hopefully come with experience.
I think he can be world class but his lack of power will prevent him from becoming elite.

Paul Appleby dreams of having the talent of Kevin Mitchell.

Appleby is good but he will only ever be domestic class or an outside bet at Euro level.

Mitchell will be a fringe contender with the help of Warren but he has not got that extra bit that a fighter needs to be a world champion, especially at super feather.
