    He also suspected they were using steroids and other performance enhancing drugs which he is very much against and has openly stated he detested.

    Kevin's sample didn't even have hormones in. He has a bad case of Gyno these days as he's come off gear.

    Randleman's a stud. To be honest i don't care about all of Hammer House being on gear. Dude was an exciting fighter with balls of iron. If they could still make em like Kevin give everyone roids!!

    I cant really blame HH for sticking to their wrestling base, but I would have loved them to cross train a little more. If Randleman had concentrated on his striking like Kerr attempted with Bas he could have been a kind of Chuck style fighter at HW imo, the dude could bang

    Rampage has said MANY times that Kevin Randleman out of all the fights he had hit him the hardest. And Rampage has an excellent beard. For me that some accolade.
    That said both Kevin and Baroni loved to stand and bang. The problem with HammerHouse fighters was 1) Mark Coleman and 2) they were just not smart enough.

    Their training consisted of injecting hormones and lifting weights with some occasional wrestling sprinkled in. Whilst Coleman screamed at his protege's "Its your fight baby!". Whilst Baroni screamed back "Im the ****ing man!!"
    Pretty much all of them had the fighting IQ of rocks.

    Dam shame as all of them were extremely heavy on natural talent.

    Remember Marks words in PRIDE? The guy actually said when he left the UFC for PRIDE and when they took away head butt's he had to learn a whole bunch of new skills. WTF?!?!?!
    Coleman just like Kerr was a physical specimen thanks to drugs and of course they're undying work ethic. But Kerr was a much smarter fighter than Coleman.
    I think that still rings true in life. As whilst Kerr has long walked away from MMA. Coleman is still mulling retirement and flirting with a fight against Hershel Walker at dam near 50 years of age.
    Ironic as back in early 2000 after his stint in the UFC Coleman was seen as old then. Who'd have thought he still want to be fighting at close to 50.

    Three best Randleman highlights for me. 1) Spiking Fedor on his head. 2) Knocking out CC and Renallo going postal. 3) Catching Nakumura in mid air and slamming him into the mat.

    Very true Scurla, I think someone should have taught them patience is a virtue, as Team HH were the proverbial bulls in the china (or Japan) shop. Those physiques were perfect for steamrolling guys into the canvas, but left huge disadvantages in striking, flexability on the ground, and of course the major issues of stamina. And the famous 'Headbutt' comments sums it up in a nutshell

    I watched the Smashing Machine a month or two ago and Mark Kerr will always be one of the great 'What if's' in MMA for me. I think deep down all these guys were insecure somewhat. But to paraphrase Ron Jeremy of all people he said 'I dont want to use viagra because I want to know I can still perform on my own'. I think the same can be applied to the steroid useage, but in reverse

    It's a shame these guys arent to clever with their money either, I think Baroni & especially Colemans last UFC stints were strictly for the pension fund. Sad to see, but that's the nature of combat sports, even Louis and Ali took that 1 fight too many

    As soon as Kerr came off drugs he was NEVER the same again. Mentally and physically his game was all about his drug addiction. Even when sober he questioned why he was even in MMA. At the end of the day for Coleman Kerr and Randleman it was just a means to an end as none of them made it as pro wrestlers and needed other means to feed their family's.

    The game went and changed on them with Nog, Cro Cop and of course Fedor. But their influence on MMA, Coleman especially in terms of wrestling being taken seriously as a martial art, is undeniable

    And at their best, they were damn exciting

    I was just reading up about the Chute boxe/Hammer House incident at Pride 31 and ended up looking at the full card. Talk about stacked

    That **** was the norm in PRIDE. The wars between rival camps were legendary. ChuteBoxe vs HammerHouse. HammerHouse vs BTT. Lions Den vs everybody. RTT vs BTT etc.

    You want to see a stacked card have a look at PRIDE 25. Or PRIDE critical count down. Matter of fact here's all the PRIDE events and you can see for yourself how deep those cards were:
