Kevin Satchell vs. Isaac Quaye & Ronnie Heffron vs. John Thain RBR

Round 1

Satchell is jabbing down at Quaye from outside and leaning over a bit to his left to hook around the high guard. Quaye is throwing lead rights up top, using a shoulder roll and living up to his "Pretty Boy Junior" moniker in his affectation of the Mayweather style if not the execution. Quaye is circling around Satchell, scrubbing his back along the ropes, light on his feet, trading jabs with Satchell and losing out due to his inferior reach.

Round 2

Satchell is dropping jabs along the slope of Quaye's bald scalp, and planting long torpedo rights on the body without having to hunker down, just making full use of those long arms. Quaye is dancing around, left shoulder popped up and right glove by his chin, looking to counter with rights up top but mostly hitting glove or air.

Round 3

Satchell is walking Quaye down with the strong left jab flowing steadily out on a slight decline, Quaye sitting low to make himself more difficult to hit cleanly but at the same time keeping outside and limiting his chances to reach Satchell with counters. Satchell is getting in some right hand stabs under the elbow or grazing along the uppermost point of Quaye's dome. Quaye is flashing his left jab up in the air, not making contact or even trying, looking to set up rocket counter rights but unable to reach up that far, especially from a retreating crouch.

Round 4

Quaye leans in low and pushes off Satchell's chest. Satchell is sliding back, keeping his feet shoulder width apart, turned a quarter rotation away from Quaye to his right, popping jabs at him and taking leisurely stabs at the body of the smaller man. The challenger is now abandoning the shoulder roll to a degree, mixing in variants of turtle shell or forearms held vertically and several inches out from his face as he cautiously looks for openings but mostly fails to pull trigger.

Round 5

Satchell is hitting the body from outside and keeping the jab plunging down in Quaye's face. More circling and diving in & clinching than counterpunching by Quaye. Wild overhands whipped up and in by Quaye, head down. Satchell takes it all in stride, moving around Quaye and finding his moving head with the metronome jab and 1-2.

Sometimes when you get a Ghanaian boxer with "I" as their first initial and "Qua" as the first three letters of their last name, they have very crowd-pleasing styles, notably excellent jabs, and overall world class skills.

Round 6

Satchell is looking bored now, swaying a bit from the waist up in circular gyrations and letting Quaye roam in with overhands, picking spots with counter jab and right crosses. Quaye is failing to make the most of essentially a round taken off by Satchell, high-fiving him with the no-look right as he curls his left shoulder up over his chin and scurries in and out.

We are halfway into a boring shutout.

 

Round 7

Satchell is raking his jab down across Quaye's face and standing in a bit closer, looping the right into Quaye's midsection. Quaye is exchanging blows with him in the pocket, messy and still getting the worst of it with Satchell giving up his length advantage. Satchell is pushing off to mid-range and planting the jab, then back inside with rights on the body, mostly screening out Quaye's upward lunges with the bottoms of his arms.

Round 8

Satchell is jabbing Quaye out into yardstick territory, getting in some rights downstairs when Quaye flails in with prayer shots up top or to dive in and wrap Satchell up in a two-armed hug. Satchell is bumping off chest to chest and keeping the jab working on the way in and out. Quaye is alternating different types of defensive stance but still has yet to figure out a consistent offensive game plan.

...and Quaye is just a piece of lint in that man purse, hardly weighing it down and of less value than loose change. :-(

 

Round 9

Satchell is still jabbing and letting himself get embraced when Quaye flies in. Quaye leans over and tries for a long reach-in body shot from outside. Satchell is too far away, too long of body and leaning out besides. Quaye ducks under a few of Satchell's jabs but gets popped in the back of the head with the right hand as he lingers down in that position. Quaye keeps missing with body jabs, boxing from Satchell's range.
