The Sanders punch is being overestimated, other than speed and power it is has little bearing on the outcome of this fight. It was a lead southpaw left something neither brother had muscles memories of therefore both ate a big one in R1 with Vitali able to recover and adjust. But Sanders is nothing like Haye or the way David delivers his big right. Corrie's punch is very short and 'out of nowhere whereas' Haye needs distance and the opponent out of position to deliver, something can be avoided with flawless footwork. Sanders hit Vitali with a counter shot but banged Wladimir on the front foot which isn't really Haye's game, just look at the Barrett fight, David falls into his punches and gets knocked down by a counter shot.

Haye simply needs to be Haye to set up the right, let the opponent come to him, make Wlad overreach with the jab and tangle his feet and time the right hand as Klit is resetting. This tactic will be Haye doing or undoing depending on the outcome (wow), if he can't deliver the biggie, he's gonna get Abraham'd silly, but it's still a better chance than opening up and pushing forward and get beat at his own game. In fact I think it'd be much safer for Wlad to force this scenario and give Haye a taste of his own medicine, let's the visitor come to him and try taking the title, and counter him in the process. This however would result in an abslutely terrible fight.

I think it's more simple than that. Wlad should just not be on the backfoot.

The question for David and Booth is a strategic one. For David to win this fight, he has to stop WK or make him quit. To increase the probability of him doing do to a point that starts to approach "more-likely-than-not", David has to increase the risks that he takes in direct proportion.

    (1) Will David do so? (2) Or will David minimise his risk of being hit and hope to get lucky with a punch that stops WK or provides an opportunity for a flurry?

That is my view of this fight. This fight ; in terms of pace, style and likely outcome; most probably turns on what David decides to do, not what WK decides to do.

I think Haye should land havy left hooks to Wlads left bicep so to take Wlads jab of him! its not easy but it works you can totaly kill oponents hands if you land some...

than wlad is in for taking!

Valuev let Haye run around the ring withouth throwing anything because he was following him around. He didn't make Haye work at all. I expect Haye to try the same tactic of running away while stopping occasionally for a counterpunch or two. Difference is that WK doesn't follow opponents around, he cuts them off and keeps his annoying jab in their face, which either keeps them preoccupied with their own defence or makes them come up with some response, either way they expend energy. This is the primary reason they gradually tire out to a standstill and start taking lots of power shots.

If you fight at Wlads pace like everyone else does then you're ****ed. Haye has the best chance of any heavyweight to beat him as he is the fastest heavyweight out there and he is a big puncher.

Exactly. It would be like the first round Haye-Audley for a full 12 rounds. Just with Wlad instead landing a 5-6 jabs and the occasional right hand, winning round by round. If Haye tries to close the distance Wlad will not immediately hug him (that's what Haye expects) but Wlad illegally pushes down Haye's head with his left hand and *THEN* hugs him, negating whatever little inside game Haye has.
