Solis needs to be well conditioned, a good weight for him would be 230 pounds. Will he do this for this bout, I am unsure but currently he fights at a weight that is way too "HIGH"....where are his trainers in all this? Can he do it? Vitali has lost three times, once due to exhaustion and once due to an injury and once on cuts to Lennox lewis? For fighter like Solis to fight vitali he to get "INSIDE" and land. Solis cannot stay on the outside and just absorb "JABS" all night.....He needs to get inside the loops of the punches that Vitali throws at him..perhaps even to put vitali on the ropes and have him "COVERING" up. ... It is possible Vitali may be tired of fighting all these yrs and his age has caught up to him and he is looking forward to retirement, this may help Solis....the real outcome won't be known for quite awhile but come March boxing fans should be looking forward to a "GOOD" fight....and hopefully a change in the heavyweight division. Meaning new names that dominate the division will start popping up and hopefully ESPN will carry the fight "LIVE." That will help "GARNER" fans for a sport in need of such.......................:smoke

    Keys to victory for Solis.

    1. establish his jab
    2. move in and out, stay out of range until you are ready to punch.
    3. Tight defense, dont let vitali split your gloves.
    4. Work vitali's body early and hard. Even when you are dropping rounds early, make sure you do some serious body damage
    5. Hope Vitali tires late from punching frequentlly from your bodywork and his age, take advantage and try and stop him late.

Is Wladimir stepping in for Vitali?

You do know that it's VITALI fighting Solis, NOT Wladimir, don't you?

edit: I see you've edited your original post and inserted Vitali's name. Come on now...how much do you REALLY know about
boxing when you don't even know who is fighting each other?

Solis has some physical advantages....89 inch reach (almost as long as Vitali's) and fast hands for such a big dude. Plus his high guard might frustrate Vitali and neutralize the jab to some extent. But in order to get in range and land his combination he will have to have the speed and agility to set up angles. This ain't gonna happen unless Solis was staying fit and was boxing regularly at 230. If he drops to 230 in the next month and a half that's gotta take a big toll physically. On the other hand Solis had to make weight when he was an amateur...so maybe he's used to it.

I expect Solis to come in between 240-250--if it's closer to 240 it could be a very exciting fight as Vitali has been having trouble KOing his opponents lately and Solis isn't used to being KOed. But idk what Solis does once the championship rounds come around and Vitali is still standing....he'll be a tired and hungry man.

Fug that. Hes gotta get inside and do the dirty work like tyson. U give the Klitschkos the advantage when u fight them from the outside.

Style wise it is a bad match up for Solis who will be giving up about 8 inches and height. That coupled with Vitali's Iron Chin and lean back style is going to make it very hard for Solis to do anything to him. Soils looked awful against a total joke in Ray Austin. This is a huge step up in class is opposition for Solis.

He is going to get his fat ass beat to a pulp.
