4lbs in 4 months? Sure.

Undoubtedly he genuinely can´t make the weight, but he clearly didn´t dehydrate himself too much. Honestly speaking, the commission should not allow this fight to go ahead. They have weight classes for a reason.

 

Some are worried about a Gatti/Gamache situation developing.

 

As an amateur, I used to like Davis. Now he is a total weirdo and goofball. I hope Dos Santos manages to chin him.

 

They need to make it severe for guys that miss weight. Be liable for the other guy’s full purse . If fight is still a go, you also give up half your purse to opponent.

Forget the same day weight in. Hit them in the wallet if you want this to stop.

 

Good idea to take part of the purse at least or call the fight off.

My take is that it makes me kind of angry to hear him saying he 'outgrew the weight'. If so that happens slowly over time and if you're not prepared to make an effort to make weight you should have moved up in weight instead.

There is a certain entitlement in expecting the opponent to play along with this. Yes, you're giving up your title, but you're worsening your opponents chances of winning the title by illigitimate means. Also you're protecting your 0 by not undergoing the same weight drain as your opponent.

Seeing that this kind of entitlement seems to mostly come from americans (like gervonta davis and his grease) - in my mind I tend to think that a certain social media culture might be the reason for that mindset, but who knows. They sometimes rather seem to be focussed on their own (perceived) stardom than in the past and less with their fights/legacy.

 

Sam Noakes vs Abdullah Mason is a fantastic fight for the vacant title. Noakes would really test that suspect chin of Masons.

Should be allowed to carve off the amount of weight they were over. Part of a butt cheek or thigh meat.

Keyshawn knew de los santos would’ve tapped that ass if he made weight and decided to cheat on the scales, pathetic fighter and just goes to show that boxing is such a bull**** sport where money and politics have ruined it.

 

5lbs at LW is way too much, the fight should be cancelled, Davis is a dirty cheat. Never even tried.

 

That’s just straight up unprofessional.
