Khabib is in that position now. People love him. In one week he became on of the most popular athletes of all time. And by the way he is right. Conor threw the first punch.
I would like to address @ufc Why didn't you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people? They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family? Why do you have to punish my team, when both teams fought. If you say that I started it, then I do not agree, I finished what he had started. In any case, punish me, @zubairatukhugov has nothing to do with that. If you think that I’ll keep silent then you are mistaken. You canceled Zubaira’s fight and you want to dismiss him just because he hit Conor. But don’t forget that it was Conor who had hit my another Brother FIRST, just check the video. if you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too. We never give up on our brothers in Russia and I will go to the end for my Brother. If you still decide to fire him, don’t forget to send me my broken contract, otherwise I'll break it myself. And one more thing, you can keep my money that you are withholding. You are pretty busy with that, I hope it won’t get stuck in your throat. We have defended our honor and this is the most important thing. We intend to go to the end. #Brothers- Khabib Nurmagomedov I support Khabib on this. The double standard is so obvious it hurts. Conor is fighting several lawsuits from assaults he was involved in before the bus incident took place and the commission never banned him and the UFC was quite as a rat peeing on cotton. It was no regular people hurt, everyone that was fighting are trained fighters that know how to handle themselves. This content is protected
Correct -- and this is is something Dana conveniently failed to mention, trying to twist the narrative to suggest that the post-fight fracas was all Khabib and his people and that Conor was utterly blameless in it all. Khabib's brother scaled the Octagon to try and get to Khabib, and then Conor can clearly be seen scaling the Octagon and hitting Khabib's brother unprovoked. This is all footage the NSAC will be reviewing when deciding upon which punishments to hand out and who they hand them out to, and presumably why Conor chose not to press any charges.
I don’t get this logic. Regardless of what happened or who threw what punch, there’s nothing to excuse climbing into the Octogan and assaulting a fighter after they’ve fought.
True, but also there’s no excuse to throw dollies on bus and being absolute racist during press conference.
He was dealt with by the legal system for the former and I’m not sure about the latter. Still, the stuff that went before doesn’t bear on what was done on the night.
What happened was'nt really that bad, its been blown out of proportion, remember Conor hooked someone first, watch the tape back.
Well, Conors assaulted Khabib's brother. Doesn't the team then have the right to protect him ? Now, granted they came more for payback than to protect their teammate, but surely no brawl inside would have happened if Conor hadn't decided to throw punches after the fight had ended.
True BUT Dana made out as if Conor was just an innocent guy getting blasted/punched for no reason. CLEARLY wrong. He basically said to the media afterwards " The police let those guys go without charge because Conor refused to press charges". Typical wrong/biased BS from Dana White. Conor threw the first punch IN THE CAGE which then lead to him getting assaulted by a few guys. If Conor doesn't throw that punch those guys don't climb into the octagon, they stay outside and try and help/pull back Khabib.
