Should be an interesting fight this. Fair play to Khan for taking it after a loss. I think it might be close, Khan has so much natural ability but Garcia (from the little I've seen) seems like he uses his head a bit better. If Khan uses his head UD, if he doesn't, it'll be 50/50. Either way it'll be good coz that Garcia is talented too.
Uhh, Khan sells 5k+ in America, where he's only been for a few years. . . He could sell out and stadium in England against the right opponent. . Against a bum, or a journeyman, he sells 10k+ easily. And the logic in 1.5 million purse from HBO is because hundreds of thousands, maybe millions will be watching them. . Customers who pay 10-15$/month. . That's the logic in it. . .
He could sell out a stadium in England. That might be true, so he should fight there. Truth of the matter is, Khan does not sell tickets in the U.S. All of his fighters sans vs Lamont Peterson have had free hotels, ticket giveways, comps, etc. I believe tickets and hotels are 50% at the Mandalay Bay. Khan also left Frank Warrn way too early to come to America. Ricky Hatton and Naseem Hamed were smart enough to stay with their promoters long enough to build credible fan bases. Khan doesn't have that in the U.S. As much as people like to **** on Bob Arum and Frank ****** they are REAL promoters and are not afraid to spend money to build an attraction.
This is what I'm thinking. Both of these guys can Bounce back after defeat though. Khan might not get his big payday with Mayweather but he certainly can comeback. The Mayweather carrot should serve as a huge incentive, he lost it after peterson fight, but now seems favourite to land mayweather straight after he returns from Prison. To Khan winning this fight could mean an extra 5 million guaranteed at least if the Mayweather showdown gets made.
Timothy Bradley is an attraction? Devon Alexander is an attraction? The list goes on. Only a handfull of people; cotto, floyd, manny, jmm can sell tickets. All rest dnt try. Atleast Khan brings some people. More than what can be said about American born boxers.
And what does this have to do with Khan? I am just saying it doesn't make sense to pay Khan nearly a million dollars for what he draws in the U.S. Bradley was fortunate to fight Pacquiao and Alexander draws well in his hometown of St. Louis. What are you trying to say here?
Not this bull**** debate again, who gives a **** how much Khan (or any fighter, for that matter) gets paid?, I mean it's not like they're giving us a cut or anything.
I wasn't talking about purses. I was talking about drawing power etc. You think Bob Arum built Timmy in the Pac fight? You think Don King did Devon any favours by giving him gift decisions over lucas and kotelnik?
Saj Mohamed Lmao u aint got no fans.. N Can't sell **** RT @DannySwift: Thanks to all my fans who are supporting me, tomorrow will be epic! #teamgarcia lol
