Would have to agree. I've said since the Olympics that I think his style is too amateur to make it at the top level in the pros. He's still young and has time to make adjustments and if so I'll happily stand corrected, but just my 0.02 worth.
Its way to early to say he'll never make a top pro but my money is against it, theres just too much to do IMHO.
Oh dear. I've never been a fan of these crappy images but at the moment I can think of no better way to expres myself. atsch atsch atsch
the people booing degale where the irish contingent who were there to see big marty thats why they where chanting sathurland, sathurland. and at least have the people at the MEN where there to see MAB so i would say they know the boxing
I ****ing hate the race card, it's always used by idiots who don't know what they're talking about. Who's been the most popular British fighter of the last 30 years? Frank Bruno and last time I checked he wasn't white.
Yes but was Bruno Muslim?, The world has changed you might of noticed after 9/11 and 7/7, not all but some people have a problem with Muslims.
I really cant say, some of the points people have stated on this thread to do with him being cocky maybe I dont know, but a guy making his pro debut getting booed for no reason is shamefull.
I was at the NIA that night. de Gale did not get booed when he came out, nor did he for the opening round. He didn't get as good a reaction as Billy Joe and Frankie Gavin but still didn't get booed. It was only as the fight went on, and the fact that from my vantage point at least, he could of finished off at any time. People booed 'cos it was a boring fight. Watching it back on TV it certainly wasn;t as bad as it seemed in the arena. If fans don't like what they are seeing, they boo. More importantly, I hope it hasn't started a precedent. de Gale was booed when he was announced to the crowd at the Khan/MAB fight which I found very disappointing as that night he hadn't done anything wrong.
