If Amir Khan gets by St Clair and the fight with Thaxton doesnt materialise, who would the public like to see him fight next? Personally with him being ranked high by The Ring and the alphabet titles, i would like to see him fight somebody of quality Romanov, Santa Cruz or Ganoy? Any suggestions?
Euro is the next logical step. Thaxton missed the boat hes only got him self to blame. fans can slate warren or even Khan but Thaxton and hennesy new that they would play hard ball.
Khan's next opponent will be dependent on how he fares against St Claire. Obviously with the weight and height advantage plus other factors Khan should win but if he were to struggle at all or be exposed we may see another step backward in opponent. Welcome to the brit forum KCD :hi: - I see you are from Bolton. What are your thoughts in general about Mr Khan?
I reckon St Clair will go into survival mode byt he 5th. Too much height and power advantage to Khan.
Thaxton was the next logical step (for many) after Earl but that didn't happen so logic and boxing don't always follow. If Warren and Hennessy couldn't reach an agreement outside of the process they should have just gone to purse bids. It was Khan that was withdrawn NOT Thaxton.
Credit to David Haye for not taking the first offer Warren is rumoured to have made him for the Enzo Maccarinelli fight. Glad he seems to have secured a lucrative deal for himself and that bout is taking place in London - the fact it is on a SN show will be even more satisfying if he beats Maccarinelli.
When was the last time a SN fighter fought on a lesser promoters card (i.e not counting UK fighter going to US or similar)
May not be the last time a SN fighter appeared but I'm assuming Danny Williams was still with Warren when he fought Scott Gammer in Wales during March 2007 on a Barry Hearn bill.
Cheers for the intro elle:good I used to train at one of the gyms Khan trained at when he needed new or different sparring partners, i sparred him twice he is very fast, not alot of pop back then but then again i did have 30lb on him! But he was respectful of people and quiet i had been there 6month before i knew he was going to the olympics. Fastforward a couple of yearsand me and a couple of the lads went to one of his fights (it was the fight were he was knocked down by the frenchman, i forget his name) and we spoke to him and he was quite full of himself considering he was yet to fight a real quality opponent, but maybe we just caught him on a bad day. Other than that you just see him driving about Bolton with his mates like a gang of dickheads but then again everyone knows about his driving. Im not really sold on him yet i think he is in a bad position were he is to good for the british and european level fighters yet hes not quite ready for the elite at 135.
Presume thats on one of your VIP Promotions visits given that Khan and VIP's Jamie Moore share the same gym and trainer.
Thanks for the feedback KCD - particularly interesting as you appear to have had more contact with Khan than most on here.
So KCD do u think he will turn out like another naz or will he get his head on straight. Maybe he's only acting like a dick to his friends and when he gets in the gym he quite respectful.
Didn't he say he wanted to be the youngest British WBO champion? How long does he have? Does he have time to win the European title?
