How about you read the interview in full (or listen to it if you get the chance), instead of taking comments out of their context? You completely ignore the most important bit which made him say what he did: "If that happened without Victor hitting him in the head I think Floyd would have got disqualified." Which is not that ridiculous when you think about it. The main reason why Victor received no sympathy from the public or the referee, was because of him launching that stupid headbutt in the first place. If it Victor did nothing contentious and was then sucker punched as badly as he was, some referees could have seen it a different way (seeing as though it still isnt entirely clear whether Cortez resumed the fight properly like he should have). And when he says: "They let him off because he is Floyd Mayweather. If that was anyone else you would have been disqualified but because it was Mayweather they can't disqualify him." Again, that theory isnt too ridiculous. The higher profile of the fighter, the harder it becomes for the referee to disqualify or make a harsh decision towards him. Not saying Khans comments are directly applicable in this situation, because according to Cortez distorted way of seeing things, he did nothing wrong with the way he restarted the fight. But anyway, you know Khans not the best at putting his points forward, so its kinda stupid to nit-pick at every out-of-context comment he makes, dont you think? Especially when you look at his other comments where he clearly states that because of what Ortiz did, he [Ortiz] deserved what he got, and Mayweather took full advantage of the situation. And in case you havent notice, youre supporting an avatar of Carl Froch there. If contradictory and stupid comments bother you so much, then hed be one of the first people youd turn your attention to.
Carl is a warrior who has proved himself to be a man. He is also intelligent and shows this when interviewed. Although, he is not perfect but still gets my respect.. What you say is a fair enough statement, however, since amir is talking about Floyd Mayweather then I have to evaluate what he says as "directly applicable" in relation to the situation and sorry but saying another fighter should be disqualified when he didn't do anything illegal is plain stupid. "If that happened without Victor hitting him in the head I think Floyd would have got disqualified." And sorry we will have to beg to differ cos to me the above is a silly thing to say cos it is plainly obvious there would have been no cheap shotting had Victor kept it nice. Therefore how can anybody be thick enough to get all hypothetical about a situation that would never had of happened. Nothing suggested to me that night that floyd was fighting dirty and was about to finish Victor unfairly before the final butt.
Khan is big in the UK only. But isn't a mega star. Mayweather is a mega star hence he does more PPV's. Tyson was PPV in the UK and used to get more PPV's than Lewis. Does that mean Lewis is shitty? Duhhhhhhhhhhhh
Khan says he's 2 or 3 fights away from Mayweather. Yet the other day he was spewing bull**** saying Floyd is ducking "Manny and me".
Was being sarcastic, the response to Khan in the uk is indifferent imo.. He is not big when i think about past Brits and the support they have had.. Problem is Khan is not yet ppv material but argues like he is. And never once did I argue Khan was "shitty" Just found his comments on disqulification ludicrous in the context he uses and happen to think if a fight with him and FMJ happens he looses. For the record Amir is no lennox lewis and no lewis was not shitty.
He added: "My next fight will be 10 December against Lamont Peterson, an American fighter, and then I'll move to 147 [kg] after that fight. Whoa are they opening a super heavyweight division next year?? LMAO
True enough - now he will be ready in 9 or so months. don't get me wrong I am ok with his 9 month plan but just can't be bothered to take him seriously when he talks about ducking.
Amir is a complete ******* but you cant really blame him for that but some of the **** he says is just astonishing.
you if actually watch the fight properly, (like you should of read the article you linked properly), Maidana landed his bombs coming in, not landing the damaging shots on the inside but actually coming in at Khan. Therefor everytime Cortez split them, he was giving Maidana the advantage, because everytime there was space, and Maidana marched forward, he would land the bigger more damaging shots. Watch Round 6,10, and 11 again and you will see this happen. If not, maybe you should get some glasses cos you clearly cant read either. in conclusion, saying "Cortez saved Khan" is an easy excuse for anyone hating, because its always easy to blame the ref. your plain hating, just admit it.
Contradicting? Please outline where if you can be bothered. Sorry fella you originally suggested people are "making **** up".. Amir said the disqualification thing not me.. Amir started saying Floyd is avoiding him not me. I am merely giving my opinion on Amirs words of wisdom in relation to claims of disqualification and the fact he talks a lot of ****.
