How does he go against the top tier welterweight fighters from the mid to late 90's? Oscar de la Hoya Tito Trinidad Ike Quartey Jose Luis Lopez Oba Carr James Page
De La Hoya, Trinidad and Quatey all knock Khan out, no way couldhe take their punches. Quartey and Tito would have knocked him out eary. Khan would beat Carr, but I`ve never heard of the other two fighters.
Lopez drew with Quartey knocking him down in the process, tough as old boots, chin made out of granite with very heavy hands. Page beat Lopez for the WBA title. Side note go watch Lopez v Campas, Quartey and Page and his WBO title win against Loughran, he's got a very fan friendly style.
Very badly. Lopez destroys Khan. Page at his best probably lands a big one and takes Khan out. Carr would find a way to win. He may have problems with Khan’s speed to begin with, but he’d start to time him and may even force a stoppage. The top three on the list are obviously way too much for Khan and would stop him. 147 was stacked in the 90s, and most of the top guys were big punchers. There are certain fighters and styles where Khan could be more successful, but that era was all wrong for him.
Jimmy Page is the only one I give him a chance against and that's only because it's very difficult to box and play guitar at the same time.
