I used to think Khan would make some noise at 147. But now that his limitations have surfaced, I don't think he can really hang with the top 5 of the division. Maybe he can get a fight with Mosley to really see where he belongs. While Mosley is a shell of his former self, he still presents some problems for Khan. I think Mosley may just KHTFO though.

I'm of the mind that 140 is the heaviest Khan can be at and still be effective "naturally". He's not even built like that. Bird chest, skinny, under developed legs despite all the road work and s&c, lanky arms with no real shoulders. Blame genetics or whatever, but Khan is not built for the higher weight divisions.

Example: Ortiz in his last lww match came in at 160+ on fight night, now that's someone who should move up in weight class, not someone who barely re hydrates 4 or 5 pounds over the lww limit. :patsch

I don't agree with you Go Getta, first of all while Khans chin isn't made of wet paper it isn't granite. To add to that it's been cracked before it can most definately be cracked again. Not to mention if he carries that bravado up to 147 someone like Berto/Ortiz will K.O him.

Now to address the actual weight the only fighters I know who don't gain a huge amount of weight after weigh in are Manny and Floyd. One is one of the most accurate punchers in history and has the best timing in the sport and the other has massive power for the division.

Khan has neither of those attributes he can barely keep fighters off him at 140 I say he stands ZERO chance at 147. Mayweather has shown that with his superior boxing skills he can dominate much heavier hitters, over and over.

How would Khan do that when fighters are now (after the Peterson fight) going to pressure him and he can't fight them going backward or fight on the inside?

Look at Timmie Bradley he has moved up and he has no more power whatsoever, he is NOT Manny Pacquiao.

Thankyou. Khan made the weight last week very comfortably.

Now Ortiz, he was huge at 140, still a monster at 147. He would destroy Khan at 147, destroy him.

This is what you WANT to see not what you are ACTUALLY seeing.

Khan is a good fighter dont get me wrong he just has holes in his arsenal, too many to be rushing up to 147 imo

He needs a Defense ASAP as well as inside fighter before he moves up.

Very true, and to beat Peterson again in a rematch he needs to improve on the inside or coming with a better plan.

Khan @ 147 will be extremely feather fisted, and a brutal KO victim waiting to happen.

Pacquiao, Mayweather, Berto, Ortiz, Bailey, Mosley, Zaveck, Jones, Aydin, Omotoso...he gets stopped if not knocked out cold by pretty much any top 30 welterweight except Malignaggi (and mabye Bundu, Decarie, and Matt Hatton if you have them top 30)
