khan at 147

Anyone at 147 that has good power even if they moved up from 140 like Ortiz did will dent the Con Artist. Berto, though I don't see him as having big power, he is more cumulative but the speed of his punches will send Con's head flying out of the ring when he is nailed. Can't wait till he decides to go there, alot of funny KOs in his future to look forward too. :smoke:rofl

147 seemed like it would come so naturally to him,yet now it's starting to look like he left all his hurtin' down at lightweight.

 

No they didn't. They said it might help his punch resistance.

His problem moving up isn't going to be strictly his punch resistance, it's going to be fighting much bigger guys who won't be at all deterred by his power, who hit much harder than anyone he's fought before, who are stronger on the inside and in the clinch and who all know about his lack of an inside game.

A 147 fighter will walk him down, wait for him to go into that ridiculously porous shell defence and then beat the **** out of him.

I don't hate Khan, I just call fights how I see them based on a fighters attributes. Khan gave away a lot about himself on Saturday

 

Going by recent events Khan may well become the Asian Malignaggi.

 

Funny, but i disagree, chin is not one of Khan's probelms now, its fighting on the inside and going back.

 

Ortiz knocks out Khan. He's fully capable of smothering Khan the way Lamont did. He already did it against Berto. Not to mention Ortiz has alot of power. It's just a bad matchup for Khan.

A mere (no pun intended) five pound climb. To a division that doesn't have very many punchers near the top. A couple, but not many.

Opponents met there: Kotelnik, Salita, Malignaggi, Maidana, McCloskey, Judah, Peterson.

Only 2 of the 7 have any punch to speak of. Judah is an old 34 and looked like **** his last two times out (even having won - most feel he got a gift over Matthysse, and he should have been well down on the cards against Mabuza before his power did bail him out but Mabuza's nowhere near the mover Khan is, more of a blocker - much easier to find & hit). Maidana hurt Khan, but is one of the world's worst finishers, and his power isn't s good as advertised when facing movers anyway.

You're talking of climbing another 7 pounds, and taking shots from much bigger and stronger men...a good deal of them with one-punch KO power as opposed to light welterweight where that is rarer to find.

 

For real? So when he puts up that weak ass ear muff Defense that Peterson can punch through at 147 what happens go getta?

 

And 7 pounds is only 2 pounds more than 5..

Yeah we will see, watch when Khan enters the ring around 158 at 147, he wont be the one we see now, be sure of that.
