What was the result of the bid??

Who on Gods green earth is going to bid a purse of $2,250,000 for the fight so Maidana can make his $1m?...remember Khan is guaranteed $1.25m from GBP which is seperate from the purse bid process. The lad is going to have to get what he's given.

I'd really love to know how Maidana can be an Interim champion when there was already a regular one in place and he'd just lost to him.

The result was Khan signed with GBP and GBP told Maidana to hold off his claim for 3 fights and in return was given HBO dates.

Khan's money is NOT seperate to the purse, not unless the fight wishes to not be WBA sanctioned. Maidana is asking for what is rightfully his by the rules and he will probably get it with Khan once again reducing his percentage as he did with Malignaggi. Khan and Vali have no position to moan, they should have looked at the rules prior to beginning this process.

Besides, there is a simple way for Maidana to sort this out if he is confident of the purse amount, and thats call for an immediate purse bid which he is well within his rights to do.

 

NO. You're deciding that their naming terms are what you think they should be.

They have clearly stated multiple times that if there exists an interim champion, the bids follow 55% to the champion, 45% to the interim champion. They have done it consistently multiple times previously. Like I said, email them, they will tell you themselves. Though no doubt you will still not believe

It looks like Golden Boy have got themselves in a pickle by wooing Khan with the guaranteed big pay out.
They tried to shake off Maidana by giving him the Bradley fight and when that fell through they offered him a chance to fight Berto. The evidence shows Maidana is due his 45% and now they must be frantically begging Khan to reduce what he should be paid. No wonder GBP have been avoiding this fight.

 

If the fight goes to purse bids only the Khan guarantee might be GBP problem, for all we know Fwank might bag it :hey

 

I strongly doubt GBP will be even trying to convince Maidana he doesn't deserve 45%, their route will be in the form attempting to get Khan to once again take a bit of a cut while at the same time trying to get Maidana to accept a lower than 45% sum in return for guaranteed future dates in the event of a loss etc or other incentives.

After rewatching the Ortiz - Maidana fight, I am convinced that Khan will stop Maidana.

Maidana clearly loves the taste of leather and he is ugly enough and slow enough to eat a three course meal of the stuff en route to a Khan victory.

What will the haters say after Khan stops Maidana?
