When you go 1-1 at commonwealth type level and then land a legend like Barrera it's always going to leave a bad taste for most fight fans.

The idea of Khan wondering around with Barrera's scalp makes me sick frankly. He doesn't deserve the chance. You could argue that Prescott does.

    Agreed.

If Khan wins, then the fact the fight was made will disgust me. If it's a warm up fight for Barrera, then fair enough, but if he's so far gone than Khan get take him, then it will be one of the most undeserving wins in a career I've ever seen.

    I appreciate your post.

But then if you feel he doesn't appreciate a shot then please answer me this.

If his next fight was against a bum then what would you say then ?

Would you be content to see him fighting another bum or would you moan about him not being put into the ring with someone who would give him a proper fight ?

Also, in boxing its very well known that you dont get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.

    SC...

I'd be dissappointed. But that's not the issue here. The issue is the way money and backing denotes a fighter's path of progress rather than merit. People don't like it. Here is an extreme case where money and backing land a fighter who is 1-1 at a reasonably low level (average) in his last two fights can land a legend for his next fight. Seeing young fighters given the chance to wear the scalp of a great past-it fighter is a part of boxing. But it is nice if those involved in the fight would actually earn that shot.

Khan hasn't done that. It is absolutely reasonable that he is held accountable in the court of public opinion for that.

This fight is a disgrace in my opinion. A "bum" would have been similairly dissapointing. The perfect fight? Breidis Prescott. But I don't think we'll be seeing that any time soon. Do you?

Seems Khan and his handlers are now attempting the Joe Calzaghe method of hand picking fighters with a great history whom they perceive to be 'over the hill'. I don't think Barrera should have been picked if they seriously want Khan to win though.

Alot of people, particularly in the UK, dislike Khan for has cocky attitude and constant harping on about money and his legendary skills in the past. In recent interviews however he has been much more subdued and slurs alot when he talks - almost like he's punch drunk. I think the KO from Prescott has either still got him rattled or knocked some of the cockiness out. It certainly didn't knock any sense into him as choosing Barrera flies against this!

Can't wait to see the fight though. Barrera wins as soon as Khan is tagged.

of course ya gonna get hit at some point but when khan is wobbled he fires off wildly in defence, he might not deserve the chance but prescott is fighting some blown up featherweight so what does that say about his ambition, if anyone is 2 blame for khan who might or might not deserve his chance its barrera for giving a young talent a chance, u cant fault the man for that

khan has earned more fans before turning pro than most boxers do in there whole career. he bring £££££ everytime he fights, barera will earn some ££ and if he's happy to fight khan when khan isn't his mandatory than no1 else is allowed to hav a third opinion

Well I can see where your coming from and to answer your question I dont think we would see a Prescott rematch but I think if Khan looks impressive against Barrera and manages to stay on his feet a Prescott rematch looks like the next step because Khan cannot take a back step now, he has to keep on fighting top level opponents and I for one wants to see Khan avenge that loss and it will be tough for him to face the man who took his heart and his chin that night.

Khan will find that if he beats Barrera, the pressure he will be under to face the man who beat him will be overwhelming.

Everybody on here always bitches every time a fight gets made.

I dont they like the idea of boxers boxing, its much better to just announce what they think would happen if 2 boxers met, and then theres no need to have the fight at all.

Some on here would even rather the Pacquaio - Hatton fight doesnt happen unless Pacquaio gets slightly more money. I dont know why they care about Pacquaios money, I'm pretty sure hes got enough to put food on the table.

It will be a good fight, I just don't want to see Kahn getting any richer for doing sod all, so at least this is a challange even if he is shot.

can I remind you a shot Gomez, thats right Gomez did to Kahn, a shot MAB will kill him.

I missed the part where you reconciled the two completely contradictory 'Barrera has only been picked to give Khan a name win' and 'Barrera will win easily' threads of your arguement. Possibly because you didn't...
