yeh that statement is ridiculous one time they were pulled apart which i thought was quesrionable when khans back was turned to maidana and arms tangled and another time when maidana had one arm free even though khan wasnt in trouble at that stage, other than that they were pulled apart quickly when khan clinched, khan actually won the 11th on ledermans scorecard and had some very good shots and had success at the end of the 12th

Exactly this. People overrating Maidana because of the Mayweather fight. It definitely reflects on Mayweather as a fighter because Maidana struggled against Josesito Lopez just one fight prior to Adrien Broner. Khan would completely shut-down Maidana this time around. People are saying Maidana improved, and he has somewhat, but Khan has also improved. :bbb

Maidana was dominated by devon f'n Alexander.
Maidana was whooped by Khan (3rds don't win a fight).

And he went life and death with soto-karass and josesito.

And this guy gets off 900 punches on you and hits you more than anyone ever has in your career?! COME ONNNN. What does that say about the opposition? and your career as a whole?

Khan has not improved though, he has gotten a lot worse. He has just dropped the level of opposition, and still struggled. Diaz had him down and an argument could be made for him winning the fight.

Collazo has been past his best for almost a decade and was never anything special in the first place. Somehow beating a shot Collazo has catapulted Khan into ATG territory in the eyes of some people on here. Khan's career is a carefully orchestrated illusion.

No one that mattered actually had Maidana winning. Cliff Rold, probably Floyd's most subtle hater that I have ever seen, surprisingly had it a Draw and that's about it. I expected something like 116-112 for Maidana from Mr. Rold.

Doug Fischer, a guy who has been hating on Floyd since like 2007, had him winning.

No he did not. Khan has the advantage in the sense that he dropped and badly hurt Maidana in the first, but he didn't win as "convincingly".

I know people tend of overrate the boxing skills of guys who have speed, but Jesus, it is on a whole different level with Khan.

After the 3rd round on, the rounds he was winning were close and far from some dominating display of boxing like some people bizarrely claim. Maidana was already starting to catch Khan with those looping right hands around the 4th and 5th, and getting some bodywork done.

Khan was winning some of these rounds by moving around and throwing arm flurries that were barely even landing. He was winning rounds because he was doing a little more than Maidana. He was mostly missing his punches, despite what the meaningless system known as Compubox says.

Khan was badly hurt in the 10th and just scraped by a razor thin victory. If people actually watch the fight and really look at Khan's punches from the 4th round on, instead of listening to Jim Lampley's shilling and being amazed by fast arm flurries, you would see how close the fight was and how many of Khan's shots were not landing.

Mayweather was not that convincing either, but he won more rounds than Khan, he was doing more actual clean punching, and wasn't holding on for dear life late in the fight.

threadstealer your right in what you said but that was still better than mayweather in terms of landing good shots, he had an unbelievable first 2 rounds where he hurt maidana hard often and at will something mayweather never did. Then he did well the third but maidana started coming into it in the 4th to the 8th where he won one or two rounds and lost one or two tighter rounds. Then in the 8th khan had a great rounds where maidana did nothing and khan caught him consitently with lots of good shots basically the same story in the 9th and the tenth up till he got caught. And at this point it seemed like the fight was done and dusted with khan winning 7 rounds with an elbow deduction and knockdown, he was on the ropes then with the big shot he got caught with but came back in the 11th in a messy and tight rouns and then the 12th which was similar. But because the fight looked over before that shot thats why people mention it alone because it changed the dynamic of the fight

Mayweather had like one clear round in the 8th i think but the rest where tight and he never hurt maidana the way khan did

I think people are getting carried away with the Collazo performance. Let's not forget Khan very nearly got one punched in the fight before that by a blown up and shot to pieces Diaz.

Khan used his legs, Mayweather did not. Let's see if he uses them in the rematch.

Khan one fight before Collazo struggled with Diaz, also. He hasn't shown a massive improvement to make me think he could shut down Maidana.

No one said that, but before the Collazo fight Khan did really look like he had improved much since leaving Roach, in fact many questioned whether or not Hunters style suited Khan.
