Khan Brings in Jose Benavidez as chief sparring Partner for Peterson fight,

When you think of it, that's actually an excellent sparring partner. He's tall, he throws hooks, he goes to the body a lot.

Very good choice.

 

No doubt Khan will be ready for this, great sparring.

 

Superb sparring for both of them. Benavidez is an excellent prospect who has a real shot at becoming an elite boxer. This kid is seriously good, sparring against Manny last year:

Excellent preparation for facing the larger welters aswell although there aren't too many of them.

Benvidez used to give Khan problems when they used to spar regularly at the WC

 

I love that counter fight from Manny at 2:23 and 3:40.

And someone needs to get his some headgear that actually fits. Everytime I see him sparring, it gets knocked out of place and he has to stop and adjust it.

Also great for Benavidez. Sparring Khan/Pacquiao can only do good for the prospect. Expecting good things from this one.

 

I heard rumors that steve kim or dan rafael had some footage of some of the sparring between khan and benevidez but golden boy were against them uploading it as it would have damaged khans reputation,

 

Rumours like this seem to fly around whenever a prospect spars with a big name.

He probably got the better of him a few times, doesn't mean much though. Where did you hear the rumours mate, if you're being serious?

 

What source did you hear this from? Also, if this really was the case would Roach want to stick Khan back in the ring with Benavidez again? I smell bull****.....

 

Some guy claiming to be the official WC gym photographer was saying that Khan was taking a beating by Benavidez on boxscene.BTW he also claimed Khan had signed to foght Katsidis

 

it was on boxing scene over a year ago, one journalist apparently filmed the spar and was about to upload it before golden boy pulled the rug under them. from what i heard.

 

There's definitely plenty of coverage of the beatdown Benavidez gave Gesto... Anyway, it's sparring, there are times Khan has got the better of Manny, does it mean anything? Of course not.
