It may not be relevant in the USA but for the UK this is a very good fight and and long overdue. Sky's non stop and barrage of promotion is top tier Headlines cost NOTHING to publish Videos cost NOTHING to upload They already have a media and marketing department on the payroll who are excellent at their jobs and know how to create good content. Then we have social media and fans going back and forth and it creates a tense atmosphere full of anticipation. This is an excellent example of promoters not resting on their laurels and pulling out all the stops to make this a big and successful showing. Massive and full credit to Ben Shalom and Sky Sports for this level of hype. Other promoters need to take note.
Khan has never smack talked so well and fluidly. He didn't even have to try Brook gave it all to him on a platter. Khan has also had everything his way which is only correct. If Brook fails on the night it's going to hurt him deep.
Brook is just happy he gets one last pay day. Khan has maximised *all* his pay days and could afford to swerve the Brook fight as long as possible because other options were always out there for him.
Irrelevent fight, yes. Still a big fight though. This is Ben Shalom's chance to prove his worth to Sky and show them that they don't need Eddie Hearn anymore. Competition between promoters to one-up each other in terms of boxing events is only good for the fans. Afterall, we just want to be entertained.
I'm not as invested as my UK friends on the forum but am interested to watch. A grudge match is a grudge match.
Couldn't care less. It's almost as bad as the youtubers fights and old timers exhibition fights. Amir Khan rarely fights and hasn't won a world title fight since July 2011 yet in 2022 hes headlining a PPV!!
Good promotion. Shite fight. Two has beens trying to fleece the public one last time. No thank you. Will be watching it for free me thinks.
Casuals hate this fight, want AJ fireworks and strobe lights. I love this fight. Is it late? Yes. Still even in terms of miles on the clock. And it's a bonafide continent level fight. Few years back world level, heck at some points even for the #1 spot at welter. Be grateful is what I say. Hearn must be loving it hah
Hearn missed out on this one. He needs to stop over valuing himself as go back to building superstars again instead of already courting existing mega stars like Canelo and giving up all your champions to him (Smith, Saunders) only for him to walk off to another promotional outfit.
