Naturally, one good night at 147 for Alexander against Maidana, followed three years later by one good night for Khan at 147, against Alexander means Khan is the best Welterweight today. :patsch

He's a top welterweight, but the best? You can't determine that based off their opposition. He beat Alexander? So what? So did Porter. Until Khan, Brook, and Thurman fight, it's up in the air. And let's be honest, you're probably only saying he's the best welterweight because he could be facing Pacquiao next. You guys do this ALL the time; hype Pacquiao's next opponent to the moon.

Khan could possibly beat Thurman and Brook, and would probably be favored, but we won't know until it happens. He excels against southpaws, Collazo and Alexander, his two best wins at 147.

    What fight were you watching?

In the fifth round Thurman went on the defensive after taking a solid bodyshot but, at no time, did it look like Thurman was near to being stopped.

To say otherwise is sheer BS.

Now he's a potential pacquiao opponent he's going to get plenty of love from all of his nut job fans.

I wonder what they'll make of Roach's claims - which I don't believe for a second by the way - that Manny repeatedly knocked him out cold with headgear on in sparring. Roach often leaves them in a hard place with his persistent and often contradictory BS.

Yeah - The overblown claims of what happened in certain bouts (e.g. Thurman / Collazo) are laughable.

Re Roach, I rarely believe the stories coming out of this camp or that. But, I will say that Roach was making these statements last year, before a potential Pacquaio/Khan match-up was even being discussed. And, if I recall correctly, Roach was also saying at the same time that there was no point in the two of them ever fighting anyway.

One can take from this what they like but, while I don't believe that Pacquiao was regularly sparking Khan out in sparring, it's not inconceivable that Pacquiao hurts his sparring partners.

    Pacquaio? Bradley?

Here's a list of guys who would KO Khan, let alone beat him...

    Pac
    Thurman
    Brook
    Porter
    Guerrero

Have a strong feeling he'd lose to the version of Maidana who fought Mayweather too.

Has Khan fought a top WW yet? I don't think so. Brook's win over Porter is better than anything Khan has done at WW.
