He needs a change in mentality. Hopefully, tonight convinced him he can't pull that **** when he has the worst chin in the sport.

 

He was a ****ing idiot for trying to be a hero. He wasn't the always-listening-to-instructions fighter we thought he was. Great heart and will, but poor discipline and defence.

 

He wanted to take them like Manny, but Manny would be too smart to stand there and take them from Maidana. Too much heart, and not much sense.

 

There is a reason the guy now has to spend the night in the hospital. I feel kind of proud though. Both guys showed why this is the greatest sport on the planet.

 

He blocks uppercuts on the ropes with his face like nobody else. He has little power and Maidana never waivered from chasing after him and he was lucky Cortez broke them up a few times to get Khan free so he could run away and make Maidana reset.
He is a flawed fighter who has little ring smarts and will get knocked out cold sooner than later. He keeps his mouth wide open at all times. receipe for disaster.

He sure was careless towards the end. Not to make fun of Roach, but could anyone understand anything he was saying? After seeing this fight, I have much more respect for the kid. He will do much better next time out.

 

I don't think he stood still on purpose. I think he was worrying about moving away and getting caught without seeing a big shot. I also think Maidana was bruising and hurting him which was temporarily slowing him down. Maybe I am more aware of Maidana's power than most are to think he was just getting hit for no reason.
