MANILA, Philippines - British boxer Amir "King" Khan says he has changed his mind regarding the result of the trilogy bout between Filipino boxing icon Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez after watching the replay of the fight.

Khan, the world junior welterweight champion, initially said he thought Marquez won the bout, and that Pacquiao was lucky to escape with the win.

Pacquiao had defeated Marquez via a controversial majority decision, but many boxing analysts believe that Marquez had outpointed the Filipino champion.

Khan also advised Pacquiao to consider retirement soon, saying that the Filipino boxer could not beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. given his performance against Marquez.

Khan said he has since changed his mind and believes Pacquiao was the winner of the fight against Marquez.

"Just setting the record straight, I did not tell Pacquiao to retire," Khan said in his Twitter account. "The time I thought it was a close fight and may have lost it or draw, but when I saw the replay, Manny won by 2-3 rounds."

"He still has 3-5 fights in him left," Khan added.

He says that he has a lot of respect for Pacquiao, who is his sparring partner and stable mate, as they are both trained by Freddie Roach.

"We are one team," Khan said.

Khan is set to defend his junior welterweight titles against American boxer Lamont Peterson on December 10 in Washington DC.

    -----------------------------------
Just to set the record straight, Khan changed his mind about the winner of the Pacquiao Marquez fight. After viewing the replay, Khan concluded Manny won by 2-3 rounds.

For those who don't believe Marquez won, view the replay. :D

Um helllo..............ESB fruitcakes...................Did anyone expect Manny to do SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better vs Marquez than he did in his previous fights.

For one, Manny has moved steadily up to a comfortable 147/149, whereas Marquez is even at 37/38, still a 135/140 lbr.
There are NO WW's fast enough to dominate steel chinned, speedy JWW counterpunchers........NONE.

This fight only proved, as if it needed to be done, that Marquez is NOT shot, even at 37/38......which he could actually be 35 or 40 with those inaccurate, unverifiable mexican birth certificates, which are OFTEN forged soas a young fighter can enter amateur and professional competition on a higher level earlier than legally allowable.:deal

You're right. Really you're a genius. Pac won't be fighting Floyd if he was not the winner. That's what you flash of brilliance. :rofl

I've watched the replay several times.I'm a big admirer of Pacquaio's achievements and have no agenda.
Marquez wins every time.Movies always end the same way.Apollo always dies in Rocky IV,Jon Voight always dies in The Champ.
    Marquez always deserves the nod.

Good for you but others disagree. That's the beauty of a Pacquiao Marquez fight. If Floyd ducks him again, Pac should give Marquez a rematch.
