Not disputing Khans's weak chin but how many times has JMM been knocked down?

Khan's only been stopped by Prescott and Garcia

I know, I was just pointing out that sometimes merely counting the number of knockdowns a fighter suffers in his career doesn't tell the whole story.

The BAer fight produced one of the best boxing quotes, if true "Last one ups a sissy"

I hear what you are saying, but Diaz fits neatly with the first sentence of my post, **** does happen.

If we dig back into the archives of this site we all agreed years ago how Khans career would pan out....He'd have some good wins and some horrendous stoppage losses but he would always be in interesting fights and would retire with something like a 36-5 or 6 slate. He's heading that way.

Agree with every word. I think we're on the same page, my only gripe is there are still people out there saying 'what is going wrong'??

Umm...he's not owed 'greatness' and there's nothing wrong with what he's achieved thus far, which is much more than a lot of fighters do, and with some very good scalps and some memorable fights.

He's done very well. I'm not slagging him for not being an infallible uber-boxer, I think some people have unrealistic expectations of him and STILL do! It's madness.

The problem is when JMM gets dropped or hurt, he usually recovers very quickly, fights better, and proceeds to put a beatdown on the guy that dropped him. When Khan gets dropped or hurt, he usually doesn't recover, fights worse, and gets tagged and hurt a lot more. And while the KD in the fourth round wasn't really that damaging in my view, he was in dire straits multiple times late in the fight, particularly in Round 11, and was given a lot of leeway with holding all through the fight which helped him survive a relative non-puncher in Diaz. Given the right style matchup, Khan can still make some noise, but he's finished at the top level.

I would not call a guy who won 29 of his 40 wins by KO a Non-Puncher but he is not a banger too..

We have seen Khan take harder shots at 140 than the shots Diaz hit him with, seems to me something is not right.

A move to 147 wont harm him as Khan chin at 140 is now really bad, I think he should fight Alexander in Dec for his title.

If Khan chin is really bad there too then Khan should think about retiring, if its holds then he still got a few fights in him.

I say its worth the risk to fight Alexander for his title and become a 2 weight world champion too.

The guys at 147 will be bigger and he'll get battered worse. Give it up Darni...

Fact is in 10 140 fights he only been KO once..

You can even make a case that, that was his only real loss at 140.. (PEDerson)

one thing that always makes me laugh is people say about kahns 'exciting style'.... but then only bring up when hes gettin beat up
dont think the main problem with kahn is the chin in regards of knock downs and gettin ko'd its more to do with his horrible recovery time and his serious lack of ring IQ when it comes to defence whilst hurt... he has a certain vulnerability to him but i suppose that kinda adds to all his fights, the fact he can be on rubber legs at any given time after a decent hook connects
