Im gonna compare Khan to Pacquiao just for this thread!!! The main reason why Pacs opponents cant fight back is due to his blinding combinations. You cant throw with someone unless you can match them punch for punch, and Pac/Khan is just too fast. I wanted to see Khan throwing a lot more combinations last night. It was plainly obvious that every time he did, Maidana couldnt throw back at him. It could have and should have been a lot easier and more convincing!! Im absolutely over the moon he won though!!! :good :arran
khan was succesful in the early rounds, right. somewhere in the middle rounds khan sort of stepped off the pedal. probably started to be wary of maidana's power. maidana has serious power and kept the pressure.
Good point. Khan is the fastest fighter next to Pac right now. Although I thought he threw some excellent combos in the early rounds. For what it's worth I think Khan got sidetracked from his gameplan trying to prove people wrong about his "chin problems". And although he passed the test, I wouldn't want him to do that again. Made for a great fight though, haha
Throwing combo's leaves you open to taking punches (dangerous against such a puncher). Plus Khan didn't wanna punch himself out.
depends how fast you are!! you cant think when someones throwing punches that fast in combinations. you have to cover up. calzaghe, pacquiao, leonard... this is what they all had in common!! when you throw combos, you are vulnerable to counter punches, but at what point in a lightening fast combo like pacs or khans do you think ''ill counter him now''?? :deal
Calzaghe & Pacquiao have taken loads of punches they shouldn't have. Usually when recklessly throwing punches. Calzaghe was quick but still got countered by Kessler/Hopkins etc. Pacmans fast but still got countered by Marquez etc . Calz & Pac both probably have better stamina & chin than Khan also.
