It's obvious. Dean Powell has had a few weeks to analyse Hatton and he's now entered the Frank Warren chart of satisfactory risk.
Khan: ''Stepping up from lightweight to light-welterweight, I'm going to be a lot stronger, making the weight a lot easier, and holding my power." Does this statement mean he knew he was draining himslef at 135 which effects your power?, and knew 140 was more his natural weight? Frank knew this aswell but because of Khan's weak chin he kept him at 135 so he could feed him blown up 130 fighters, and that is the cold hard truth i feel.
If this has been a deliberate statement put out there on advice of Warren or his training camp then it could tell us what we probably already know about Hatton.
An act of cowardice, going after clearly damaged goods. In the Guardian he has the temerity to then say in a few fights time he'll be looking at going after Mayweather and Marquez level fighters
I hope Khan hasnt been quoted saying this and its just been said by managers etc, cause that would be utter bull**** and a self-low blow to Khans rep, not only will he be hated even more by british fans, but he will be noted for saying he doesnt want to fight Hatton cause hes a friend and would rather have him in the corner, then Rickys KO'd in 2 and he wants a fight with him, this is a very very stupid move, not just in terms of a fight, but for Khans own reputation, this U-Turn move is pathetic.
Actually, on On The Grind radio he said he coulld be looking at those sorts of fighters depending on how he progresses. But he's not stupid, he said why would he want to take on a Pacquiao or Mayweather or Marquez when they are P4P fighters at the top of their game and he's still not primed. He said let me hit my prime first whenever it is and then he'll think about fighting them.
Frankly who care. Khan is young and talks first without even thinking for a moment about what he's saying.
roughly translated: I'll fight them when they're pushing 40. It's ridiculous that he should be even mentioned in the same breath as Mayweather or Pac or Marquez. He hasn't even fought a European class lightweight yet. This Kotelnik fight will tell us a lot. I'm skeptical.
Me and you both. Khan isnt in the class of Witter or M'Baye yet. I fancy Kotelnik unless Warren has paid him to take a dive
