From the minute i heard Khan had to change his gloves i got that worried feeling in my stomach and once the fight started i was seriously on the edge of my seat. Khans chin has me worried everytime and i always felt that 1 flush Maidana bomb and its night over, like walking a tight rope. But gotta say its good. Im not sure many people predicted that fight going down like that. Many predicted a bit of a 1 sided safety 1st jab fest, i didnt think Khan could keep Maidana off him for ever so i went for Maidana knockout win. Some even thought Khan would grind Maidana down and stop him. But who thought Khan could eat so much leather, he was seriously running for his life on a couple of occasions but he some how stayed up. Im not going to claim Khan is Iron Jawed all of a sudden, its clear its still an issue with Khan and Roach but ive seen boxers go to sleep with the kind of shots Maidana landed on Khan. Im quite suprised by what i saw. That was Khans toughest and most dangerous night so far and it was Maidanas power that was his achilles heel and not only has he overcome it, hes tasted it and still won.
that pretty much sums it up. The fight went in a direction no one (that i know of) predicted. Great, great fight though.
Remember, Khan didnt even hit the canvas once despite taking HUGE shots that would have ended other fighters at 140. Khan should have no problem with the power of Bradley or Alexander
how the judges scored the fight in favour of khan is anyones guess. he was on the back foot all night being chased down. he was lucky to survive the 10th round. yeah he has proved that his chin is not as bad as people thought. you have to give most of the credit to freddie roach really. maidana was hard done by. cortez took a point of maidana and was quick to split them up when maidana got on the inside. khan basically fought on the back foot and used his reach advantage to land flurries. he never hurt maidana after the first round though. was a great fight. they should have a rematch.
i had them 6 rounds a piece. but two point deductions for Maidana lost him the fight, it was well scored and it was fair. i even gave round 10 a ( 10-8 ) round for Maidana, so Khan only won by a single point
not sure what fight u saw but i had Khan by 3points including the 10-8 first round plus the 1 point taken from maidana. 1 round and being generous i cuda given 2 rounds ahead but he won the fight, no doubt.
I was so nervous about ths fight but jumped out of my seat when Khan almost "Salita'd" Maidana with that body shot. I was hoping Maidan would stay down but now I'm glad he got up because this fight proved alot of ppl wrong
Most nerve-wrecking fight I've ever had to endure. Honestly didn't think he would make it out the 10th.
