No wonder Ruben said "these comments crack me up!" it's because you get nobodies and "no it alls" who think they have the credentials to tell a top level trainer what he should be working on with his client/athlete! If these people truly think they know more than a professional trainer, why don't they step up and make a name for themselves.

"I just want the big fights," Bradley told the Desert Sun. "If Khan is the big fight and we can make it happen, then why not? Let's do it."

Floyd Mayweather Jr, crowned the highest-paid athlete in the world earlier this week in Forbes' list, casts a shadow over the situation, however. Mayweather is currently serving an 87-day prison sentence, but when he gets out Bradley is likely to be high on his list of potential opponents - and Bradley is open to the prospect.

"If he doesn't want to face me, he doesn't have to," Bradley said. "He's all about money, 'Money' Mayweather. If it doesn't make money, it doesn't make sense.

"That would be his take: 'What kind of fans are you going to bring, Bradley?' Me having a small fan base would jeopardise me fighting him. But I'm all for it. I would love to face him because I feel he needs to learn."

Plugging away in the heat of LA

    Hey,

I’m in the middle of camp, grinding away in the heat of Los Angeles to get ready, and make sure I’m at my very best, when I take on Danny Garcia next month. I’ve been back in LA for a week since returning from Vegas where I was with Freddie Roach for Manny’s fight with Timothy Bradley.

Camp is going really well. Ruben Tabares is doing a great job getting me ready for this fight and some of the new concepts and ideas he’s brought in for this camp are working really well. He’s a top conditioner as he proved with David Haye and it’s really good working with him.

We’ve been working a lot on power for this fight and I’ve been doing some weightlifting drills with Ruben but have still maintained my natural speed – that’s been very important. A lot of the work I’ve done in previous camps such as running and swimming are still very much part of our programme and I usually do this in the early morning before heading to the Wildcard in the afternoon.

A lot of people are usually asking me what my day consists of when I’m in camp. It starts off with waking up at 5.30am where I will get ready to do the first session of the day which is either running the UCLA track or up the Santa Monica stairs. Every day it’s timed and I need to always improve on those times. Some days I may have a pool session which is another great form of resistance training.

Afterwards, I’ll head back to my apartment and have something to eat, usually oatmeal with mixed fruit, I tend to take my protein shake before the morning session, and then I’ll catch a couple of hours rest before getting up around 10.30am. Resting is just as important as exercising when in training because it gives your body time to heal itself. I’ll grab a more filling meal such as an omelette with vegetables which is high in protein before the afternoon session at the Wildcard.

I train at 3pm at the gym, and with Freddie I’ll do the mitts and sparring, depending on the day. It’s great being with Freddie because he has so much knowledge of boxing and is always working on the game plan for the fight and how he wants me to approach it. During those few hours I’ll also do different fitness circuits with Ruben and believe me they’re no walk in the park! A lot of it is to make sure I maintain my explosiveness and strengthen my core.

Once we’re done Ruben will cook me up something to eat like fish, steak or chicken and then it’s just about resting up and relaxing, maybe calling back home to see how everyone is doing.

I’ve managed to stay in touch with the football while I’m here and it’s great to see England doing so well in the Euros and reaching the quarter final stages. I’m confident we can beat Italy and progress to the semis - it just has that feel about it that this could be our year!

My fight with Danny Garcia is only a few weeks away now and I know he’s going to be up for it. He’s a good fighter but I know I just have too much for him. I want to produce the knockout in this fight and that’s what I’ll be aiming for, I think it’s going to be a really exciting matchup between two fighters in their prime.

We’re not sure yet what belts will be on the line, hopefully once the relevant bodies have reviewed the situation things will become clearer but I’m hoping this can be a unification fight and I can bring back the world titles to Great Britain!

Hope you like the pictures and stay tuned!

    All the best
