Love how @DannySwift dad talking so much ****.. Whilst we were trying to make the fight he was saying "we not ready for Khan, its too early to fight him" but now khan is overrated he a no body, hes this and he's that, keeps bringing religion into it.. hahahhaaa the truth will come July 14th feel sorry for Garcia hes getting knocked out 100% and that's a promise

 

With less than two weeks before his July 14 showdown against Amir Khan, WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia remains confident he'll keep his undefeated record intact.

"I believe that everything happens for a reason," Garcia said during an appearance on The Boxing Lab. "I think it's the perfect time for this fight. I'm the champion and he calls himself the best. If he calls himself the best then he has to beat the champion. To me, it's just another guy in my way trying to defeat me, but it ain't gonna happen."

Amir lost his WBA super world light welterweight title to Lamont Peterson in 2011, but the latter was forced to give up the belt after testing positive for synthetic testosterone. Peterson also admitted to using synthetic testosterone before his bout against Khan.

The rematch between Peterson and Khan was cancelled due to the failed drug test, giving Garcia the opportunity to test his skills against the Brit. The WBA super world light welterweight belt and Garcia's WBC belt will both be on the line when they square up at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.

Garcia will have his work cut out for him against Khan, but he should be able to hold his own inside the ring. Amir obviously has more experience against top level fighters, and his technique is a little better as well.

Still, Garcia isn't impressed with Khan's skills, and he vows to pull off the upset.

"Everybody says he's fast and all that, but he reaches a lot with his punches and I think that's where he goes wrong," Garcia added. "I'm a great counter-puncher, so if he comes in and he wants to reach - then he has to pay. If he wants to fight then we can fight. If he wants to box then we could box. Whatever he wants to do, I'm going to adapt in there and make an exciting fight and win."
