:think Maybe. I do think it's been on Khan's mind. You know, the way Peterson was walking through his shots. Despite cheating, I think it bothers Khan that his punches aren't getting his opponent's respect the way he wants.

I mean his pitter patter flurries may look good to a casual fan but they weren't connecting flush on his opponents. It's good to change. He's more flat footed. Blocks shot's with his gloves, arms and elbows. Good body work. Good use of upward jab. Covering up for Garcia's left hook. I mean when Khan first came to Wildcard, Roach put him there with Manny... i'm sure Manny's left hook is better than Garcia's.

His footwork is still horrible imo but still does the job. There's no fluidity slightly robotic but oh well. You can see Khan is very naive... at one point he asks Roach what if he (Garcia) comes in with the (right hook after the left) and Roach said he can't as you've positioned you're other glove so that even if he does come in it won't connect. He's not as smart/cunning as people make him out to be.

If we compare Garcia's workout (and his dad's rant) with Khan's; we can see Khan has put alot of effort into this camp. He really wants it. How sad that there isn't one Roach fighter that is a World Champ atm? I don't count JCC Jr. as a champ cos Sergio is the real deal champion of the world!

Former unified super lightweight world champion Amir “King” Khan (26-2, 18 KOs) continued his preparation Tuesday at the Wild Card Boxing Gym in Hollywood, California for his upcoming world title fight against undefeated WBC super lightweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (23-0, 14 KOs) to be held July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. “My preparation has been brilliant. A long training camp, we were over in the Philippines getting ready for the Peterson fight but that fight got called off,” Khan told Fightnews.com.

With just a little over a week to go, Khan is ready for his showdown as he looked sharp at Tuesday’s media workout, working with trainer Freddie Roach. “We have had a really good training camp we have had good sparring,” Roach said. “We are ready to fight Garcia.” Helping out in preparation for Danny Garcia, Roach has brought in the services of Ruslan Provodnikov, who is coming off a spectacular knockout win last Friday on ESPN Friday Night Fights, undefeated Armenian power puncher Art Hovannesyan, and lightweight prospect Kevin Hoskins.

“[Garcia] is a tough kid shows a lot of heart and is a good quality opponent,” Roach said. “I think Amir is the superior fighter he is the taller with longer arms he throws straight punches and Garcia throws a lot of punches I think we have a chance of catching him early because he’s a slow starter. I suggest Amir gets warmed up early.”

The news today was Khan suffering a cut on his nose yesterday while sparring but fortunately the cut was not serious enough to call off the fight. Khan spoke to the media on the accident. “I suffered the cut yesterday during sparring. I got elbowed,” Khan told media.

Khan is coming off a disputed split decision loss to Lamont Peterson in Washington D.C, Peterson’s hometown last December. Khan was originally slated for a May 19 rematch against Peterson, but Peterson tested positive for a banned substance and the fight was cancelled. Khan decided to move forward and take on Danny Garcia. “It seems like a long time since I have been in the ring it is going to be good for me to give my fans a chance to see me fight and go back to Britain and be the new WBA/WBC champion. For a 25-year-old that is in his prime, I think it’s too long to be out of the game for six months. I’m happy Danny Garcia took the fight.”

Both Amir Khan and Danny Garcia have agreed to be tested by USADA leading to the fight as Khan spoke to Fightnews.com on the random drug testing. “I took another test this morning. Drug testing is going amazing. I think its brilliant boxing is cleaning up and we all should do more of the drug testing. It’s only for everyone’s best.”

Things got a little heated at last month’s press conference at the ESPN Zone in Los Angeles when Danny Garcia’s outspoken father/trainer Angel Garcia referred to Amir Khan as overrated. Those comments ignited the situation as both camps got in a heated exchange of words as Amir Khan promised he would make Danny Garcia pay for his father’s actions.

“That trash talk has motivated me it makes me train harder and want to knock Danny Garcia out. It has made me more serious and focused,” Khan told Fightnews.com

“Danny is a nice young man. His dad talks a lot. He is a **** talker,” Roach said about Garcia’s father/trainer

One thing is certain that this will be a great matchup to continue an exciting summer of boxing. You won’t be disappointed with any fight Khan is in as he has proven in fights with Paul Malignaggi, Marcos Maidana, and Lamont Peterson. Amir Khan and Danny Garcia have the styles for an action packed fight perhaps a potential fight of the year candidate.

“Come July 14 you can expect a great performance from me. As always it will be explosive it will be another great victory for me. The difference in classes will show. I will show Danny Garcia that I am an elite fighter not just a world champion,” Khan concluded.

“Khan vs. Garcia,” a 12-round fight for Garcia’s WBC Super Lightweight World Championship, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Khan Promotions and sponsored by Corona and AT&T. The fight will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT in the United States and live on Sky Sports 1HD in the United Kingdom at 2:00 a.m. BST Sunday, July 15.

i don't think Garcia would be a walk over for Khan but I would love to see Khan "Salita" (unlikely) him just to see Angel Garcia's reaction

his shots dont have any impact, joseto lopez or lammont peterson are not known as power punchers but you could hear the snap on there punches whenever they connected on ortiz or whoever. most of khans shots just buy time, they disrupt the opponent from setting anything up and allot of judges score on work rate

Losing a bit of speed won't really effect Khan too much he is that fast, I think he would gladly take a bit more power and accuracy with more time for Khan to think before he throws also.

We also don't know what type of drills Ruben had Khan doing before the media workout that might of taken alot out of Khan too.

Looking at the mitts this fight is not going past 6rds deffo not more than 8rds, and if Khan hurts Garcia in the 1st or 2nd rds he will take him out, this fight has alot of things playing in the background for Khan first the D.C home town loss, then Peterson caught taking drugs, then this clown father of Garcia, he done said the wrong ****, believe me us Pak istani people are a proud race, he will feel the full force of the disrespect shown by him, it's war now.
