AMIR KHAN has demanded all his future opponents must undergo enhanced drug tests or he will refuse to fight. The former world champion remains furious after Lamont Peterson was caught taking performance enhancing drugs ahead of their WBA and IBF title rematch. Khan now takes on WBC champion Danny Garcia in Las Vegas on July 14 and his unbeaten rival has already signed a contract to take random tests for PEDs ahead of the bout. Khan said: “The drug test is in the contract. All my opponents from now on will have to take the tests or there is no fight. "I signed up with the Voluntary Anti Doping Association before the Peterson fight and they have already asked me if I want to do more drugs testing and I have said yes. “In fact for everyone one of of my bouts, there will be a clause in the contract to either agree or I will walk away. For every fight now, I am going to insist on drug testing.” At one stage Khan insisted he would fight Peterson, who is accused of inserting a pellet loaded with synthetic steroids into his hip, but his dad Shah persuaded him his life could be put at risk. Khan added: “I am clean and I want a fair fight. It is a risk to my life. I have insisted on it for the Garcia fight and he had to agree to that. “Anyone who has been done for drugs should be banned for life. Peterson failed a test and that should be his punishment. "I have seen athletes get back after two years and I just don't think that is right. I have always volunteered for testing and everyone should. "If a boxer fails a drugs test he should never be allowed to fight again because, even after two years whatever he has been taking is still in his body in my book. "Peterson knew himself what he took as a professional boxer. He should have checked everything but he didn't declare anything. "I really think he should be punished because he was a threat, not only to my life, but his own life as well. "When you are on something and in a fight, and you keep coming back stronger, you could be a threat to yourself.” Khan first underwent drug testing as a 16-year-old amateur boxing for Great Britain and says he has no idea how many times he has provided samples, adding: "I have been tested all the time since I was a teenager. I have lost count about the exact numbers but it must have been over a hundred. For the Peterson fight alone I was tested six times - I was even tested at the press conference which is where I am told Peterson supplied his sample that proved positive.” And Khan reckons the finger of suspicion will follow Peterson around like a bad smell with the Washington DC fighter’s life now in ruins. Khan said: “Peterson must be having sleepless nights after losing £1.5m for fighting me. It would have been the biggest purse of his career and changed his life for ever. "But, instead, he has lost his titles and his respect. He has lost everything. He would have been remembered in Washington DC as a legend and now he has thrown all of that away. "I am lucky to have natural talent but there are probably fighters out there who take short cuts. "There is only one way to catch them and that's why I urge everyone should be tested. It is worth it to make the sport clean and the fights safe.” For fight tickets to see Amir Khan vs. Danny Garcia visit www.amirkhanworld.com or ring 0845 163 0845.

Khan's got this Even if Garcia hits slightly harder Khan will still land easily twice as many punches. Gonna be a blowout ladies and gentlemen Get your popcorn
Garcia has a good chance because of his speed and power but he's not busy enough. He either gets outworked to a UD or he stops Khan.
Khan's overdue for another great performance, I think he puts on a clinic here and stops a bloody Garcia on his feet.
