This sort of comment indicates you are simply an Amir Khan fanboy rather than a true boxing fan. Perhaps you shopuld try following boxing for a few years, you might learn a thing or two....;)

I think what he's trying to say is that if Khan's true potential is to be measured, he needs to step up his class of opposition. No one's denying his potential or talent. I too agree that he really needs to be tested...and i am not belittling his achievements so far!

w4s1m and FRKO, i'm interested to know if u think Thaxton can provide a REAL test for Khan? Cos as I've mentioned since before the Earl fight, i just don't think he can.

Thaxton would be easy picking for AK to be honest, Thaxtons lack of head movement will be costly against khan, AK has a good reach and size advantage over Thaxton and think this fight would be over within 4 rounds

Khan will beat Thaxton. I don't think it will be a complete walkover for him, but it won't be too hard either. If they fight, I'd predict a Khan KO him in the later rounds or win via UD. Thaxton probably isn't fast or precise enough for Amir but he seems pretty determined and strong.

How long have you watched boxing for mate? Hatton has eaten shots from Tackie and Tszyu. He got caught multiple times by PBF who is vastly underrated as a puncher. What the **** are you mentioning Baldomir for as if he is chinny? And Judah...he has been stopped twice, by Tsyzu and Cotto. Both are bangers...Tyszu a massive puncher at the weight.

Khan was decked and all over the show in his last amateur fight from a short shot by Craig Watson...and no Watson is not a banger. He was then almost KO'd by Willie Limmond.

Now you want to compare PBFs punching power to that of Limmond?:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

PBF ****ed up Corrales, battered Mitchell, obliterated Gatti (even though he was past it), was on the way to stopping Judah and has a 39 wins with 25 KOs record, fighting in 5 weight classes against World Class opposition.

Limmond has won 8 from 28 by stoppage at British level and over 2 classes and you are going to compare the two?:rofl:rofl

And it has NOTHING to do with race or religion, Hamed was HUGE in Britain and mainly because he was flash, exciting and a banger.
Khan is huge here and people in the know are simply saying he looks chinny, that is it.

Yes he is skilled, fast and his power is clearly developing. I also think he looks to have learnt from Limmond and is more careful and compact when he attacks, he picks shots now and I think he is getting better and better....

But all this whining about race bias...drop it. Haye is chinny, it has been said here multiple times, **** David himself has posted here and admitted he does not have a great chin. In fact Hayes chin is the one thing that I think stops him from being top drawer at Heavy. I hope I am proved wrong. Likewise, I think Khan has come on leaps and bounds and I think he takes Thaxton, but yes I think he is chinny and that will be an issue at the top level.

David posts here? Cool. I always rated him. I see him doing well for himself.

For some people boxing in general is secondary, they're simply Khan fans. If it gets kids even rempotely interested in sport instead of computer games then I suppose it's a good thing.
If you look at the Amir Khan fanboy/girl site, it's full of references to Ricky Hatton getting beat by PBF, as if it sort of justifies Khan getting dropped and hurt by Willy Limond.
You just can't argue with the logic of the teenage fanboy/girl. It runs deeper than boxing......

Limond was a part time fighter(he's a joiner with Glasgow council) who was a natural superfeatherweight and even at the lower weight he was known as a light puncher, not to mention the fact that he had only fought twice in the tim Amir had racked up 12 fights so I'd say he was inactive aswell.

People are more pissed off with Khan coz his mouth is signing cheques that his talent cant cash and he needs to think before he opens his trap and starts speeling bull****. (he called out PBF ffs)

Earl was shot to pieces and anyone with an ounce of boxing knowledge could see that. (just go to boxrec and look up Grahams record and the pattern of red L's at the top of the page is usually an indicator of a past it fighter)

Thaxton is also past his best and Khan should be able to beat him but if Jono lands on Khans chin then we will see what he's made of.

Khan would get mauled at world level and unless he learns to shut up and just get on with his career he will likely have less and less fans with each fight.

That nice little humble kid who won silver in the olympics has turne into a cocky loud-mouthed little twat.

hang on kerminator "his mouth is signing cheques that his talent cant cash" but theny uo go on to say "Thaxton is also past his best and Khan should be able to beat him ".

Correct me if im wrong, but hasnt he been mouthing off about Thaxton and earl?

Aside form that his callnig out of PBF was for an amateur contest over 4 rounds. And his world title claims have been exaggerated by ITV who keep pulling him up over a quote he made a long time ago about beating NAz's record.

How mnay other fighters have we had in recent years who've been the best in brittain and potentially competing for european honours by the age of 21 - Hatton, nope.... Calzaghe, nope.... Froch, nope... Haye, nope... People really need to cut this kid some slack, otherwise we're in danger of losing far and away the best talent this country has produced since Naz. When you think of the improvment boxers make between the age of 20 and their prime, say 28, then Khans potential is frightening. He was down against Limmond, granted, but just how often had he been hit by a fully grown adult without protective headgear. I know Oliver is working hard on Amir's defence, and punch resistance can also be built by strengthening neck muscles. I for one hope Khan can go all the way and provide us with many top nights of boxing. Without stars boxing can potentially fade in this country. Hatton has another 18 months in him, Calzgahe probably 12 months. Froch is over 30 already, and the Haye dream could be over before it starts now he's at heavyweight. That doesnt leave us,a nd just as importanrtly the general public, with much to preside over.

Limond overrated, Earl shot, Thaxton shot...does that automatically makes Khan best lightweight in the country?

That are some daft ****s on this forum

This kid won a silver medal aged 17. He is now TWENTY ONE, and you can already make a claim for him being the best lightweight in Europe. He is right up there, at the very least

Yet some deride him simply for the hype he recieves, which is no fault of his own, other than him being very good

So he talks a bit. So ****ing what, when everybody else does it its called selling a fight, and is completely different to their real character. Doesn't apply for Khan it seems...

This kid is an amazing prospect

He called out PBF as a pro, not an amateur and everytime I've seen him interviewed he is always saying he is ready for a world title (even as early as 5 fights into his career)

People dont like a big-mouth, its human nature and the way he goes on he just cant help himself but lets not panic coz im sure he'll prove his worth against the hard hittind Dane......not

i just get the feeling that if kevin Mitchell or john murray had the same skills and same media attention as khan they wouldnt get as much stick for being mouthy

Why? Mitchell is also under Warren so would have the same bull**** machine behind him. The main difference between the two is that Khan has an olympic medal in his pocket and a higher public profile as a result. Your average punter hasn't even heard of Mitchell or Murray so they're not going to get the coverage that Khan does.
