Shows that Khan has his head screwed on and is an acknowledgement that although he does have enormous potential he also has some glaring deficiencies, i.e. no real defense to speak of and no inside game. Khan could be world-class with the right guidance (Roger Mayweather) and that isn't going happen if he stays in the U.K. Although I do wonder what Enzo Calzaghe could do with him......

It's the U.K. where he's getting all the hype, so it's the last place where he could focus on his career - the sooner he moves to train in the US (Roger Mayweather would be EXCELLENT), the better for him.

But for the sake of God, avoid McGirt at all costs!

Amen! I just don't get why guys go with him at all. Unless they think it's a possibility that they may at some point want to be pulled out of the fight.

When is the last time one of his higher profile fighters won a match??

McGirt is a great trainer, why all the hate. The only problem I see with Buddy is that he has too big a stable which spreads out his time with all of his fighters. If he would whittle down his stable I think it would be better for him.

I think Khan would be well served going to Manny Steward for a spell, before working with Roger Mayweather.

Steward would sort out that leaky defence!

No no no! Forget Steward! Think about the defensive techniques the showed Cintron before the Margarito rematch!

I think Steward is totally the wrong trainer for Cintron to be honest, as he was with Naz and Jermain Taylor.

He was, however, perfect for Lennox Lewis and continues to do a good job with Wlad - even though he is dull as ****

Amir has a great jab and Steward likes fighters with jabs

Khan is a whole different material than Wlad or Lewis. Steward is a limited machine who produces the same jab-based defensive boring sh*t over and over again and he's lucky when somebody has the natural tools to use OTHER tools as well. Taylor looked better both before and after he trained under Manny's guidance and will be even better back with Burns.

Khan's got crazy talent but needs a really creative, innovative trainer and such sparring partners who can help him make that defense better. Imagine that Khan could work out with Roger AND Floyd Mayweater Jr. all the time and they would show some great defensive techniques to the youngster. Amir is very speedy with a good stamina and combos and a lot of confidence. You cannot run a Steward program on him. He doesn't need to learn how to use a decent jab, he's already got the jab. Roger would let Khan walk on his path, just making him less vulnerable and more aware of what's going on in the process. Steward kill the fighter's own personality in the ring. Floyd usually spars dozens of rounds with every gym mate and Khan would be an excellent sparring partner for the Oscar fight - experience Amir couldn't learn from a better fighter.

Enzo Calzaghe is so overrated as a trainer its sickening. His success story is Joe, who has a unique talent-based style. Enzo being credited as a great trainer is unfair to Joe's skills.

He would do nothing for Khan.

    Enzo Calzaghe is seriously overrated.

He has done great with Joe, but can you honestly say that no other trainer could have put him in that position, because I can't.

He doesn't have his fighters working on their weaknesses, and they all fight the same way as Joe Calzaghe, i.e. high workrate, switching tactics etc. Enzo Maccarinelli is a long armed, big puncher who can't fight inside. So why the hell would you have him working on fighting close with bent arms ala Joe - by all means work on it, but don't adopt it as your main tactic until you are proficient.

His fighters are generally pretty fit, and have a high workrate to go with stamina, but they are all so alike and can be dismantled (Joe excepted) as the past six months have proved.
