What would it take for everyone here to like Khan, to squash all that hate about him. Some suggestions please, maybe he will respond and make you happy next time!!!

A Cotto-Malignaggi situation might rectify things. It brought Paulie respect.

[For the record, I'm not a big Khan basher. But then, I'm not exposed to the British media, either. And he is shaky, no doubt.]

Khan doesnt control the media. However I think he needs to keep away from as many cameras and interviews and celebrity shows as possible. The chin isn't something to hate, all boxers have either a good or bad one out of his control. Is it his gob, he doesnt come across arrogant to me, but he can be a little nicer.

He can never make everyone happy. Critics can easily sit in their arm chair and pass judgment right fully or wrong fully.

Khan shouldnt give a damn about the haters. Its his life at risk in the ring. He should pursue his dreams and do whatever takes him to the top.

Good response. People will say fight better opponents, what happens when he does start beating quality opponents, I think more hate.

He doesnt have to very nice. He did show Barrera a LOT of respect I dont know what you expect him to do. Hes a boxer and a person who cares if he doesnt say everying to your liking!

People like to focus on the negative. What about the way he turned his career around what about the never give up attitude what about all the changes he made since his loss. Almost everyone would've laughed at Khan Barrera after the Prescott knockout. But he proved em' wrong. Like it or not Barrera had no chance cut or no cut. The cut tainted Khans victory.

I am in no doubt most of the hate is plain and simple racism and bigotry derived from his pakistani background and muslim faith. So the hate will never go away as long as their are racists. Its difficult for americans to understand the level of hate towards Khan from British boxing fans. I hear all sorts of bull**** about it being down to arrogance, down to what he's said in interviews. Total ****ing shite. Every half decent boxer is extremely confident, and says they are gonna do this, beat that guy an win a world title.

Compared to many boxers, Khan is a nice, friendly, down to earth kid. He spent a shitload of his own money building a community gym, does plenty of charity work, and gave up his own time to take part in a tv show to help young guys who had gone off the rails and gotten into trouble take up boxing to get them back on the straight and narrow.

Ive heard people claim they hate him because of the hype - the guy won an olympic medal at 17 and ran one of the best ever cuban boxers close in the final, of course he's going to be hyped, but that isnt his fault. Ive heard its because he signed with Frank Warren - another excuse to cover up their racism. Warren aint my favorite guy either, but the fact remains he makes the most money and gets the best fights for UK boxers.

The treatment of Khan by british boxing fans is disgusting and shameful.

I agree, I think some people not all use any excuse to cover up why they really don't like him. Bad chin for sure, but that is boxing. I think people are only going to be satisfied if he loses.

The kid is facing an up hill battle with the haters. Being Pakistani and Muslim for a start isn't a great combo to have in britain. Not only that even the Asians hate him (Asian-Indians).

To me he comes across as a decent lad, down to earth and not too arrogant, I couldn't care less about his chin or his religion. Atleast he ain't like Hamed who use to quote the Qur'an to the audience.

For me chins don't make fighters, your defence and offence does.

I wouldn't say he's thick, I think the americans can easily mistake his messed up English-Pakistani-Yorkshire accent as him coming across as illiterate and plebeian.

Well put. You would think there'd be some credit given for taking on a potentially dangerous opponent fairly quickly.

Some thoughtful posts in this thread.

    I still rate Khan.

He has all the tools to beat certain fighters, a lot of certain fighters...but his chin will never ever allow him any kind of domination or longevity..even probably over the euro scene.

Nothing they will have no choice but to accept him as a top fighter. Except even then I still expect them to say sugar coated BS like Khan is too cocky and arrogant
