Ever since Khan made rapid progress through the lightweight division I've had nothing but criticism - though I can't deny his natural abilities and proven skill; I just didn't take to him. I didn't like all his talk about becoming a future world champion and mistook his self confidence for arrogance.I recall being ecstatic when he was KO'd by Prescott; but I think what he's done since is phenomenal. He has turned me round and I find myself becoming an Amir Khan fan. I think leaving Warren and signing with GBP will earn him some fans as it has myself. I think they'll guide his career in the right path and I look forward to watching him fight Marquez or Maidana.I honestly can't see anybody at Light Welterweight beating him (I think he'd outpoint Timothy Bradley) and in a few years I see him repeating the feat at Welterweight.

As many ppl tuned in hoping to see him lose as the amount who wanted to see him win, abit like Floyd Mayweather.

Plus Naz isn't Asian, he is middle eastern.

So it's not because he isn't white, it's because he's Asian?

Hamed was a huge draw and put bums on seats, you liking him to Floyd Mayweather Jr in that context is spot on btw.

I dunno to be honest mate, i'm abit in the middle on this one. While i think this racism thing has been blown outter proportion, there are a certain amount of people that do not like him because he is Asian.

On another note, even tho I am very critical of Mayweather I am glad he in boxing, because he does get people watching. I just wish he would take on better challenges for his skill set. But thats another conversation all together.

I miss Hamed an all, he was awesome for the sport, always had people taking, whether good or bad.

I realli cant say khans hated becuase of race. I know many many white people and even black people here in the UK who sport him 100% but at the same time there are some that hate him along with a lot of asians who hate him. so it cant simply be racism.

I always thought it was how people saw UK fighters always giving it large and never fighting anyone becuase of the warren protection, and thats why people hate you n wana see you get whooped. thats hopefully gona change since he signed with GBP

    Easiest cop out excuse.

Im not a Khan fan, never will be. I just dont like him. Not because of his colour but because, well i dont really know.

Why? i dont know, its the same reason ive never liked Chuck Liddell whilst everyone else loved him.

Khan has got alot of talent but i think everyone is going overboard with the unbeatable **** that they are talking regarding him.

He has yet to this date only ever fought one very good opponent in Kotalnik (im not counting Barrera), who wasnt brought in to lose.

Let him beat JMM, Maidana or another quality opponent and then i might start believing the hype.

Saying **** like you're better than and would beat Manny Pacquiao before he's proven himself to be world class would instill a bit of dislike for the guy.

The fact that he said it before being KTFO by Prescott makes it even more embarassing.

Boxers like to be confident about their abilities, but if you've only fought domestic level opponents, you not only come across as a twat, but a yappy twat at that - even if he was white, green or blue.

Please dont put maidana in the same bracket as JMM
Maidanas not all that..Kotlenik already beat him, hes just got a big punch thats all.

There is definatley a contingent of fans who hate him because hes a muslim...and it seems i always have the bad luck to meet these imbeciles.

But i wont judge a whole group on my personnel experiences and i guess there are people who just hate him because.....????...well whatever silly reasons they can find

No im not putting Maidana anywhere near JMM in terms of achievement.

But imo and a few others JMM has no buisness at 140. Plus Maidana whilst beatable is a puncher who it seems team Khan seem to want to avoid.

Yes people will hate him because he is a muslim, but look at the amount of people (white) like him and buy the mans tickets.

From talking to your normal everyday asians around Bolton alot of the older ones love the guy, but there are alot of younger ones, 18+ who dislike the guy for whatever reason. Its not just white people who hate him.

He comes across as a guy who is like marmite imo, i dont like him, but my mate loves him. I think he is just one of those people.

I don't hate Khan, but i hate the fact he only fights certain types of fighter.

The way MM has been dodged stinks to high hell, the hope is Maidana will be beaten by somebody else along the way... preventing a fight with him.

Khan will not be in with a proper puncher for a long time.

It's nothing to do with race.

Look over the last 15 years or so and the most popular fighters in England...

It's probably because he comes across pretty cocky.
