Khans problem is down to one word ADAPT , he can not adapt to the fight he is in.calzaghe used to say whatever situation arises I can adapt to it,floyd maywether and Andre ward can all adapt in a fight ,these guys don't have super trainers they all stick with the same coaches,if amir can't change mid fight now he never will

I love this guy so much, his **** is priceless.

Cotto manages to keep Floyd Mayweather pinned against the ropes for roughly 50% of a 12 round fight but couldn't do it to Amir Khan?

What planet are you on mate?

He don't bring RECKLESS PRESSURE the type Peterson and Maidana brought, they were willing to take shots coming in, Cotto likes to pick his shots more therefore give you more time to get away after land a fast combo.

Definitely needs a trainer who has more of an insight into how to defend himself now in my opinion, I have a lot of respect for Roach who is one of the best trainers of the last twenty years or so no doubt but his health is deteriorating and to be honest when you look at how he was as a fighter style wise too, you know defense is just not a strong suit with him.

Manny Steward for me would be the best option. Also seen someone else on another site mention Jeff Mayweather which I had never really thought about before, but not sure about that one.

****ing hell, Darni. Do you not think Cotto will have the sense to up the tempo if Khan evades his casual approach?

Besides, reckless pressure isn't the only type that breaks Khan. Intelligent pressure can, too. Actually, you might not even need pressure (as Garcia just demonstrated). You just need to time him jumping in. If Garcia - a smaller, slower, lesser-skilled and softer puncher than Cotto - can do it, then you can bet your ass that Cotto will, too.

Khan folds like a well ironed shirt the moment Cotto lands to his body

He needs to go with Manny Steward end of. He is the best in business at getting fighters to protect their weak jaws. Floyd Sr is not the man to do it. Khan just can't do a Mayweather style defense, he will get picked apart with that method and KO'd again.

Manny Steward is the answer for me. He is the best trainer in the world today.
