Amir Khan is on the front of this months Ring Magazine stating his ambitons - if he can achieve what Mayweather has I will be a believer.

But I think he is getting too big for his boots here.

I dont think Khan is going to be 5 weight world champion

I have my doubts wether Khan can ever become a legitamte World Champion at any weight

Khan will be nothing but a WBO champion, unless he leaves Warren :deal Then again if he wasn't with Warren he would have been in tougher fights by now and may already have lost :think

He has plenty of potential - but it is time to step up to domestic level now, he has mastered Commonwealth and inter-alphabetty :deal

Until he learns the art of defence and inside fighting, he won't compare to Mayweather. Fast hands aren't enough.

Right, he's yet to fight a world class lightweight, struggled against Gomez, yet he expects to emulate Mayweather. Okay.

With a good trainer he has the potential to be a champion at 3 weights and have a good career.

He's a celebrity boxer. At the moment I put him on a par with evictees from Big Brother.

Khan can achieve all this by the time he is 22.

Could have been worse I suppose; he could have said: "I'm going to be the new Floyd Mayweather from England."

Even better he could have said something a little bit more down to earth like "I want to achieve in boxing & have some good tests lined up for next year" as opposed to making the big bold statements that will get him on the front of magazines like a celebrity.

Khan will be lucky to beat the gatekeepers in his current division. I dont see how he can beat any of the top guys with his very dodgy chin.

Natural talent is pretty much evident from the time a boxer turns pro. Floyd was a stunning talent as an Am. So was RJJ. So was Tyson. Khan can have as much belief in himself as he wants but he doesnt follow that mould. So far he appears to be chinny, sorely lacking in fundamentals and doesnt have the pop to get any world class fighters respect. Couple this with the fact that he struggled handsomely with Gomez this further compunds the hot air that his blowing. He may become a 3 weight world champ but only of the WBU variety.

It's a measure of how this guy's career has progressed that his next fight will be against some has-been lightweight and provide a cursory test while a boxer he's already beaten (Limond) has put his career back together and is fighting at the Garden

This may be true but Limmond doesnt have Khans name or promotion so lets not kid ourselves. Khan is boxing celebrity Limmond is not. His only known to the hardcore. Im pretty sure Salita`s team see him as nothing more than a sacrificial lamb.
