a lot of guys with good left hand jabs attacks have larger left arms. Every time Barrera flexed it was so obvious. There are better ones if you look up all his weigh ins the left is much bigger no matter if he is in shape like here or fatter. Its even more pronounced when he's not in great shape. Its from holding that arm flexed in front of you all the time, working the lead jab and left hook. I am sure Oscar probably has a similar thing going on but we haven't noticed. Need to look into it. and yeah I don't fancy his build but what can you do? That's his physique. If you have to be skinny better to be skinny like Hearns at welter to middle I think. Some guys just have kind of oddly proportioned physiques that look a bit flabby even when in better shape. Other guys look good all the time but might not even be in shape. For example, Bobby Pac always looks fit and shredded but I think sometimes he isn't even in great shape for fights. Just obviously runs in the family there. This content is protected
I think Maidana is going to get KOd. Just like Ortiz should have but he traded too much. I think Khan takes him into deep waters and TKOs Maidana. I mean he also doesnt have the most solid chin and you can bet your ass the ref will stop it if he looks in trouble just to make Khan look good.
Actually think Khan is big for 140lbs. Its clear from the pic posted that Amir does not walk around at only five or six lbs above the 140lbs limit. I'd say he's about 150lbs in that pic posted! Khan will move up to Welterweight next year, no doubt about it. For what its worth, I think Khan will put in a solid display on Dec 11th. Sure, there are concerns over his durability, but apart from punching power, he is much the superior boxer to Maidana. Khan will box to orders, stick to the game plan. His speed & movement will be too much for Maidana!
I think it is a bad pose and stupid angle because it makes his body look kind of weird. but it doesnt matter his abilities are good and he looks in better shape on other pics.
Come fight night Khan is always ripped and in good shape And about his chin, he aswell as freddy know more than anyone where his weaknesses lie, thats why every gameplan they come up is made to avoid khan getting hit on the 'glass jaw' of his, and as long as they execute the gameplan, Khan will keep winning as he will against Maidana....y'all see !
As much as he looks in good shape, Ariza's protein shakes won't help his chin when Maidana nails him. Maidana hit's harder than Prescott and we all saw that result...
The lighting in that pic is off, Khan close to fight night is always in top shape, but since joining Roach he has stopped using weights and focuses more on boxing and core fittness training with Alex therefore his body is not as ripped as it used to be.
Khan has a weak chin no arguing about that but if you take a look at his previous fights a common theme emerges. When he got hit by the left from Prescott and his legs wobbled he did not defend, instead he started trading. Similarly once he got up he again started trading rather then get his hands up and buy some time. The end result might have been the same but this is a fundamental mistake that he has made in the past. Even in the Limond fight he continues to trade even after his legs wobble with the right. He has a weak chin but it gets much worse as he starts trading when doing the chicken dance. Roach should have worked on this problem. Then again instincts set in once you take a punch that buzzes you. Another point, I saw the Kotelnik - Maidana fight again and I was surprised about the ease with which Kotelnik was able to hit Maidana. Good clean shots even combos. I really think Khan will be able to pull through this fight but that chin makes it a very interesting preposition. Dec 11th couldn't come sooner.
Yes intincts are hard to change. Floyd has GREAT instincts when he is hurt or buzzed badly, whether it be to grab on to the hand that hurt him or find some way to buy time and regain his compusure. But he sure won't trade without an intelligent game plan in place when wobbled, and I think this instinct will fail Khan again.
