I think the reason Floyd has ducked this fight is because Manny is a powerful lefty. Floyd is very skilled at tucking his chin under his left shoulder. Very effective against right handers but much less so against lefties. I think you have to give the edge to Floyd at this point but Manny definitely has a shot. Years ago, both in their prime, I think Manny had a better chance. This is the reason I have never cared for Floyd. He is a very good, crafty fighter but not a great fighter. Great fighters are not afraid of taking on all comers at any point in their careers. Floyd has shied away from top talent in their prime consistently. As to Khan, he wouldn't have a chance against Floyd.
The two examples I gave are the two biggest reasons for my prediction in terms of using the Marquez fights as examples. I think you're overestimating marquez' power and underestimating Floyds. Marquez may well go to war but that would favour manny so I don't think that's a valid point in this case. Floyd wanting to keep it rangy and box would be more beneficial too.
Something tells me that Floyd and his team have found a creative way to avoid the fight and putting blame on the networks. Espinoza is probably in on it too. Showtime stands to make more money from a solo Floyd/Cotto fight than to share profits with HBO for a showdown with Pacquiao. Haymon and Floyd instructed Espinoza to not give an inch ultimately killing the fight. Floyd saves face and showtime can blame hbo.
i understand your point , but this is still the fight we want to see, also if Floyd does win then Khan would be next anyway.
As soon as Floyd realizes that the lead left hook against Khan is there for the taking, it will become an easy fight for him.
You know what dude I thought this exact same thing earlier. Job need this fight more than showtime. Because of a split ppv showtime would make more from a normal Floyd fight than this fight regardless of how big it it. It's a great way out for Floyd. Blame the networks.
And even if Floyd gets into a goove of winning multiple consecutive rounds against Pac, there's still the possibility that Pac makes some sort of unorthodox manuever which can get him back into the fight at any given moment. I don't think Khan has that same capability.
On point Khan is a hard fight for anybody... Pac & Floyd are also hard fights for anybody (well maybe not now since they both are showing signs of age)
personally i think it is the easier fight... styles make fights.... mayweather will beat manny easier than he will khan but manny kos amir... it;s about the styles
