In terms of American fans he is a much bigger draw than Hatton. Khan has a larger following in the states than Hatton.

 

Realistically, Khan v Molina as a headliner in the States sells no more than a few hundred tickets.

 

So because he has 1 million twitter followers he's a global superstar? You do realise about three quarters of them are British Asians?

If he was the global superstar you claim he would be able to sell out arenas in Vegas, yet he sells about 3,000 tickets.

Household name in Britain? Yes, but the rest of the world? No chance.

You have just stated he cannot get on PPV, he has been on PPV in the UK. I have no disagreements with Ricky Hatton being more largely supported, but there's people here saying Amir Khan is not a superstar. He has a massive following, probably only beaten by Ricky Hatton in terms of supporters maybe. But all in all, i probably think Amir Khan if you combine the positive followers and negative followers has a overall bigger following.

Amir Khan is always the centre of attention, every move, every statement or interview always ignites some sort of a social chain reaction within the sport.

He is a gobal boxing superstar, one of boxing's most popular fighters. Who has a bigger following..? Mayweather, Pacman, Kiltschko..? That's about it, and then you can make a case that Hatton does not have a bigger following. If you combine the positive and negative followers, Amir Khan has a bigger following and a more boarder scope. Ricky Hatton has been giving plenty of interviews, but none of them seem to be causing this sort of social chain reaction.
