amir khan has sacked rubio and is of to the wild card gym next week to meet up with freddie roach. at least hes taking some action and realised he should've appointed freddie the first time round. hope it works out for the kid

I heard he's sacked Rubio as trainer but will be keeping him on as matchmaker.

His chin is never going to be good enough so the next best thing he can do is try and improve his defense so he doesn't get tagged with big shots.

at least he'll have a better chance with a world class trainer and tough sparring sessions. i don't think i've ever seen khan sparring before a fight

 He'll have him fighting another easy opponent. I've heard he's got some bloke called Pacquiao or something up next, or if not then possibly some other bum called Marquez.

i've seen some of his training and although he was in there with some1 it certainly wasn't what you would expect. people underestimate the importance of really good sparring, it basically a rehersal

I just saw Amir Khan at a restraunt in southall after i came out of the mosque

there was a large group surrounding him, they were sucking up to him, but there were a few people that came and started saying shame, he said he will be back and then was escorted to his car.

seemed a decent bloke, too bad if it were a smaller crowd i could have said to him what alot of people on ESB would have wanted to say. maybe mention Jon murray thaxton romanov here and there.

a very good defence and knowing your limitations can take a fighter a long way

after tarawih prayer i came out of the mosque and opposite the masjid outside giftos, there were some massive group of youth praising amir khan. but i laughed when i heard a few people say shame you cant take a punch?

but he looked decent this time round with no cameras on him

edit: there were mobile phone cameras, i expect them to be on youtube in the coming weeks

but he said he will be back

Roach is nearly as overated as Amir Khan is...

...ok I exaggerate he's nowhere near as bloody hyped as Khan.

Amir needs to train in china if you ask me, he'll meet a lot of Chins there.

how did i miss that, i've met him before and he's a very polite down to earth kid. like many i have my doubts but i really hope he comes back w more mature in the ring and fighting to his strengths

    more elusive
    smarter
boxing on the back foot (countering)
a mayweather esck shoulder roll (wishful thinking)
circling the ring (away from the power shot)
    ring generalship
    more arrogance in the ring
jab, jab, jab, jab...the most important punch

can he do it? here's hoping
