Kotelnik's no robot. He's very good and is effective. If Khan isn't on his game for 12 rounds then anything can happen.
True. Apologies, I didn't mean to take anything away from Kotelnik's skill (his technical ability is all-round exceedingly good). When I wrote "robotic" - i was thinking more about his methodical and seemingly straight-line punching style. I also appreciate that I have totally put my newbie neck on the line by coming out and making such a bold prediction. I'll be sure to eat my words tomorrow night if i'm wrong, although I just feel so much more confident after seeing the stated differences between the two fighters.
D-Mac any new thoughts on the matchup? I'm thinking Khan points now............or maybe a Kotelnik stoppage??!?!??!? I DON'T THINK THE REF WILL FLEECE KOTELNIK as I said yesterday. If Khan manages to take a few and stop Kotelnik legitimately it would pretty much silence me. But I think Khan will look sensational for the first five or six rounds then Kotelnik will start to get to him. Kotelnik K.O 10. Shame I can't change my poll option :good
Khan TKO 6 or it will go on to a Khan UD. I think he's going to be too fast for Kotelnik tonight and the fight will be stopped during one of Khans flurries.
Those are the two positions I'm hovering between. I'm not sure at all on this one, and am just going with my gut instinct (which says Kotelnik late stoppage). I'll give Khan major credit if he pulls this off, especially if its by stoppage (which I can't see happening) Incidentally, the betting expert in today's Daily Mirror, Derek McGovern, is backing Kotelnik for the KO.
Sad thing is, if Kotelnik does stop Khan it will be horrible to watch. it doesn't look nice when he gets knocked around.......................reminds me of Johnny Owen against Lupe Pintor, not a fan of his but don't want to see Khan get hurt. Good luck Amir and I mean that:good
Khan wins by UD - IF he sticks to Roach's game plan and doesn't lose concentration. He might even force a late stoppage but I'm going for him to win it on points.
Kotelnik stops Khan late on. A heart breaker for Khan who starts off fast and is ahead on points at the time.
I think Plan A gonna be work on body but if Khan took few shots back or got counter nd dint get ktfo then Plan B will be box circles to get wide UD.
