Khan really doesnt need massive punching power his speed is enough and getting knockdowns and hurting an opponent has a lot more to do with speed and timing than pure power. i think the best weapon that Khan has is that jab which is fast and hurtful and has real spite in it.

He not be able to flurry his opponents to a tko at this level but that jab over the course of a fight can be the difference when combined with quick combination punching

Look at the Malignaggi fight by the end it was snapping his head back in quite a nasty fashion

He is going to have to sit down on some punches with more substance against Mr Maidana though. Backpedalling and throwing flurries while its likely to be successful is a tactic fraught with danger because there is very little chance that type of work will put a dent in Maidana considering Maidana was able to recover from full power punches from Ortiz, and it leaves Khan tiring towards the end of the fight no matter how good his stamina is he'll get tired. And therefore vulnerable.

He needs to play the percentages. When there is an opening he really needs to sit down and hurt Maidana because they've got to aim for a stoppage to minimize the risks of being in there 12 rounds with somebody like Marcos Maidana. Yet he can't sit in the pocket too long either, so its a dangerous balancing act they've got to play. I'm worried about it.

Me too. Which I guess makes the fight all the more exciting really. A real challenge for a change.
