khan sounding like a spoilt bratt... i dont remember Duke saying anything particualry negative. nothing wrong with constructive criticism, Khan coulda finished the show earlier tbh! is abit worrying that he was playing it so safe against such a featherfisted puncher imo
He might not say the smartest of things in the world but he's entitled to his opinion and when he talks out he get's blasted for it. I'm sure you don't like people who hate on you (If you have any) and surely retaliate when they talk in a negative fashion to/about you. I'm no Mayweather licker but what he said is true. People should look at themselves before looking at others. Most of the people are just as bad.
Yes but thats the commentators job...the commentator isn't supposed to sit there are cheer lead the fighters. His job is to comment on what he sees. We could debate all day whether he was right or wrong but he was just doing what he's paid for.
Cotto gave all he could and he went on points. Malignaggi is one tough mother****er. Cotto had no respect for his power and got hurt in one round. Hatton tried as much as he could and got Paulie out at about the same time aswell. It was always going to be a technical performance and was very disciplined IMO. Better than him going crazy with pointless flurries.
Yes, true. But I'm sure his intention wasn't for the media to jump on this. Khan can say anything to just a mate and it can end up getting this far. But I would say that Duke has never been favoured really as a commentator and I guess that has come into effect here.
Duke isn't actually supposed to favour Khan. You and Khan are maybe just used to British fighters being the beneficiries of ridiculously biased commentary. He wasn't particularly harsh or scatching, he might not have been right in all his analysis but he just did his job and I don't think it really warranted such a bitchy and immature reposte.
Look at it this way, what if Malignaggi listened to Duke's commentary? Do you think he'd be best pleased with everything Duke said?
Even if Duke had nothing good to say it wouldn't matter because Paulie was losing everything anyway. But on the other hand, I felt Duke wasn't really happy about Khan's performance and just didn't have much good to say about him, compared to the HBO commentary. But as you said, they get paid for their commentating opinions and I probably am a bit sensitive to it as I am a big fan but what I'm saying is that Duke has never really been a favoured commentator.
Yeah Lazarus, pretty much been covered by TFFP - He isn't supposed to be complimenting Khan throughout the fight. Merely just commentating on what he sees. Regardless, I dont think he's a good commentator anyway :good
HBO were really complimentary because Khan is with GBP and they regard him as the next big thing. This was meant to be a showcase fight for Khan in America, course HBO would be sucking his dick off.
Correct. If you look at the HBO/ Showtime commentary teams they offer opinions on how BOTH the fighters are doing and what adjustments they need to make. Its the one big weakness of the Brit teams is that they always slant the commentary as to how the British fighter is doing or what he needs to do to win.
Truly He should have people around him at this stage saying. "Just shut up" He's on the verge of big things at the moment and risks losing a lot of new found fans with his mouth
