on the subject of commentators what do you think of bob mee on euro sport. i think hes very fair and honest in his opinions and he calls the fights as he sees them, without resorting to hyperbole, he seems to have good technical knowledge and i would like to hear him more often. sometimes on sky they start on about things that have nothing to do with whats happening on the screen. i think carpenter said once if you cant say anything that adds to what viewers can see dont say anything. many people on here seem to think the sky live action commentators are crap.

 

Bob Mee is top class compared to rest over here. IMO

 

I hate all British commentary, Duke was O.K.

I re-watched the HBO version of the fight, they were giving Khan alot of props due to them knowing Paulie inside out and know how akward he can be. They never saw Paulie get outboxed like that.

 

hbo versions are definately superior imo. steve farhood is really good on showtime aswell

 

US broadcasts are usually better. Better production, better commentators and no adverts :yep

oh and they don't talk during rounds so we can actually hear what the trainers are saying!

 

Yeah not like ITV and SKY advert every round, got to hear what Roach was saying in the corner, Roach was loving it, saying things like Beautiful, Beautiful Keep working off that jab' :yep

McKenzie is a hopeless commentator, but "negative" towards the british boxer?!? Ridiculous. I've no idea what Khan is on about.

Yep. He seems to lose fans everytime he opens his mouth. Somebody in his camp should put a gagging order on him. The least media savvy boxer in quite some time.

 

Duke was terrible that night. But not towards Khan. He was awful in stating that Paulie hadn't had a look in when he had clearly been effective early on. I don't remember any negativity towards Khan?

 

Khan is right, Duke was poor, he doesn't even know what's coming out his own mouth, he gave Malignaggi round 2, then later stated he hadn't given Malignaggi a round, and that he had Khan winning 12-0.
