As has been said, HBO are up Khan's backside because they see him as the next big thing. Hatton had over-favourable American commentary when he went over there too. I'd rather hear our commentators wanting our fighters to win (as long as they don't talk **** about how a fight is going) than the Americans jumping on whatever bandwagon is passing at that moment. LOL at anyone who thinks they are neutral.

Disagree with that, Kellerman especially was very objective and kept re-emphasizing the advantages Khan had against Malignaggi. I actually think the ITV commentary was more favorable to Amir, which is why i'm baffled with this attack on Duke who had one of his better nights on the mic. Okay he's no Ritchie Woodhall, but Dukie is far from garbage as a co-commentator and people are too harsh on him IMO.

I thought Mckenzie was unusually well balanced - he said Amir needed to be more accurate, that he needed to measure his attacks better - which was true.

Duke's pretty dreadful most nights, but that was one of his better ones. No one could say it was a spectacular performance - he went out, did the job and that was about it.

 

Khan is pathetic.

Khan needs to get his ego in check very fast. I am getting sick of reading this type of ****. I respect the Khan - the boxer, but as a person he is actually starting to come across as big time charlie.

McKensie is a good commentator and if he thought Khan was sluggish at times then Amir should STFU and rise above it, not publicly criticise the guy. He must think that because ITV picked up his fight for peanuts that they should nuthug him the way Sky do with their home fighters. Good on ITV for showing impartiality and daring to criticize Khan.

One thing about his performance that I would critique, particularly in the earlier rounds was that is defence was a little bit leaky, but Paulie doesnt have a big shot, so he got away with it. Khan, needs keep improving because he is far from the finished article and is still vulnerable against the best opponents in his division.

 

Good to see the Daily Star on top of all things Amir Khan, one might question what exactly their motives are.
