Khan said to Sky Sports “I have tried to get Devon Alexander. It was looking promising. He said he wanted to fight at the start and now it slowly seems that he is not 100 per cent sure about it, coming up with excuses…It’s all about moving to that big fight against Floyd Mayweather. Hopefully, getting this win against Alexander will get me into that fight.”

    ------

Apparently, Schaefer went to Dubai recently and things were looking good to host an event there. Alexander obviously doesn't want to fight there and I can't blame him after the unprofessional event that was Zhong vs Cuello. Amir Khan said he doesn't mind to fight him the US though I'm not really going to take Khan's word for it since he also said he's ready to rematch the guys that sparked him only to cruise away shamelessly.

    ------

Kevin Cunningham responds to Amir Khan's nonsensical comments, as expected and usual.

"Devon has never ducked anybody. He faced the biggest punchers in the division... Maidana, Matthysse, Urango and Bailey. So why would he duck a glass-jawed con job like Amir. Hey Amir, you and your dad stop ****ing around, sign the contract so Devon can check your chin and make you do the St. Louis boogaloo".

    :rofl :rofl Seen it.

If he's seriously being considered for Mayweather in 2014 then he's definitely worth discussing for now.

He has to beat alexander first, and as average as alexander is Id expect him to knock out amere con , just being considered for mayweather doesnt mean nothing, maywether is cherry picking just because hes a big name, mayweather would beat con blindfolded it wouldnt even be a contest hed end it whenever he wanted itd be hilarious

After Alvarez, an easy payday is understandable. Khan definitely doesn't deserve it but his management clearly know it's his last hope for a payday.

do you really think they want it? he's made enough money. I think there just saying his name for publicity, khans a cherry picker he alwasy talks about fighting the best - maywether, matthysse, marquez etc but he never fights them..... you know he's just gonna end up fight Cuenca or malignaggi 2 or summat like that he's a fraud

You could be right, I wouldn't be surprised if he's talking smack for publicity again. After all, I'm sure not many heard/remember this, but Khan called out Mayweather for a 4 rounder after his first professional debut. :rofl

i dont understand why your always talking about our crap fighters on here like Khan, and David Price, audley. Talk about the best UK fighters - our 4 world champions like froch, etc or our best fighters like martin murray, etc.
Khan gets beat up by peterson knocked out by Garcia in 4 rounds in embarassing chicken dance fashion, then very nearly gets beat by a past it julio diaz who wasn't even in the top 30 ( could easily have been a loss)....... Yet people are still talking about him like those 3 recent fights did not happen....
unbelievable he's proven to be a fraud yet the threads keep coming wtf?

They keep coming because they're on the news at the moment and related to boxing on a boxing forum. How often do I discuss terrible British fighters? :huh. I barely start threads as it is and when I do it's related to interesting recent news. Amir Khan clearly claimed that Alexander is scared/ducking while in reality it's the complete opposite because no official offer was sent. The only thing mentioned was a possible fight in Dubai and nothing else. We have been hearing this from people representing Khan and nothing from Alexander yet we make judgments rather than waiting to hear from both sides. Now that Alexander responded I made a thread about it.

Because Maybe Devon is scared Khan will outbox him?

Bradley hits like a girl but I bet Devon will be staying clear from him for a while...

You might want to give team Alexander's response a proper look. The only reason Khan is chasing Alexander is because of his KO ratio, nothing else. They hope this will be the safest fight for him before he bumps into someone that sparks him half dead. Remember his light welterweight safe move?, when he started off going for guys with no KO records like Malignaggi and Kotelnik(bonus belt here too)? I smell a similar management plan at 147.

    No doubt.

Garcia & Matthysse are dangerous for Khan
Most of 147 excluding Bradley and Alexander are dangerous

Karass and Maidana will be hot on Khan's case if he spends too much time at 147.. his ultimate goal is Mayweather.. he wants the fast route lol.
