Salita is a much better techinical fighter than people give him credit for. He just has no power and a very weak chin.

Of course they have, but all of those are actually Lightweights where as Paul is actually in the same weightclass. Thaxton is retired anyway and hasn't looked at fighting Khan in a long time. Frank Warren actually kept Khan away from Thaxton at a time when Jon probably would of taken Amir out.

One issue at hand however is why you haven't dealt with what pathmanc asked for in judging this fight from the actual technical skills and qualities the two fighters posses. Forgot the argument that McCloskey hasn't done enough to earn a fight with Khan from his wins and achievements. I'd like to hear why you don't feel McCloskey deserves a fight with Khan according to the technical skill he as and the physical quantities he possesses. Afterall the fact the best opponent he's faced is Giuseppe Lauri doesn't make his power or handspeed any worse.

yes, not british as you said

    You failed to address my main question;

When are you going to explain to me in technical boxing terms why this is so ridiculous? Please

Big Ears, once again a man with some sense.

he wont, because he doesnt know what he is talking about.

Im sure hes not a nasty ***** or anything, just has backed himself into a corner and is ignoring what 75% of posters are saying - McCloskey is a top 10 JWW and a live opponent - What is so hard to grasp about that???!!

    Nice try.
You are trying to back me into a position to attack McCloskey to give you Irish the go ahead for the attack.

But thats not the issue, its not McCloskey its team Khan's choice of opposition that angers me.

    Ok, that makes sense.

I made it very clear early in this thread that I dont want to debate with the Irish folk on this topic because they dont want to see the chance of their countryman's opportunity to be scrutinized and some will stoop as low to try to make it personal like you have shown. I thought I was arguing with some British fanatic but instead it was just some emotional patriot.

Good luck to you and McCloskey.

from a techical standpoint - why is this a ridiculous fight!!!!!????

    answer!

there are things that Khan does that will cause McCloskey big problems - but the reverse is also true (not in as many ways granted) - point them out, present them in a manner that shows Khan will blow him out in 1/2 rounds and i will admit im wrong and that we are wasting our time with this fight.

    Personal insults? stop being soft.

    So who should he fight?

Ortiz - Golden Boy won't put their stars in with each other.
Peterson - Asked for too much money.
Prescott - Don't even go there.

Who then? How about faded Mosley? Oh wait, Pacquiao beat him to it.

Really is that your argument for this? Im no better than Arum

Having no bumps against opposition is the same as being undefeated you are just rewording it differently. So any 20+ - 0 fighter makes him worthy for Khan then huh. If you give me a moment Ill find some that fits the criteria even maybe with some other non-world title belt.

So he was a legit title holder. He beat Vernon fare and square. He may have lost the rematch but that still dont change the fact that he was a legitimate title holder.

Then why is Khan making much less money for this fight compared to his last 2 fights? Whereas Pacquiao is getting about the same big money for Mosley as he got in his last several fights.

How bout atleast fighting the guys that are ranked above him for their spot until he reaches mandatory position.

They dont need run to McCloskey but he can surely force them to prove they are #1.

JMM dominated a lightweight. Bradley is a lightwelterweight. Mosley is proven at welter but not at JWW.

and if it doesnt it hurts your argument. Just like if Khan stops McCloskey it supports my argument and hurts yours and likewise the other way around.
