That sounds inspirational on paper but in reality it doesn't work that way. How many trainers has he had already?
I've been saying it since the fight was made, I picked Diaz to knock Khan out and I was almost correct, Diaz seemed to let him off the hook every time he hurt him though.
You know what I think happened to Khan? was that he felt that he was robbed in the Peterson fight. he felt as if he won that fight on punches landed, and then he wasn't able to secure a rematch with Peterson, and reluctantly went into the Garcia fight unsure of what he had to change. (you know what i mean?) so like i think he got caught up in the idea that he had to completely dominate the opponent or else he would risk losing a decision. and what happened? well he went in against Danny with reckless abandoned and got caught and knocked out. He switched to Roach after the Prescott loss. (if i remember correctly) he was having tremendous success under Roach. He won 8 fights in a row against solid fighters, and he appeared to win his 9th in a row in a tough fight against Peterson. That decision loss messed with Amir Khan's mind because it was the first time he lost a decision, it was the first time he lost when he thought he truly deserved to win.
Khan is very over hyped. His chin consistently lets him down against everyone bar maidana who I always maintained wasn't a huge puncher. khan is not top 3 material in the division and needs to fight a live opponent before getting another shot - this likely leads to him being knocked out before getting another shot.
he is caught between styles, He needs to go back with ariza Jump up to 147, fight Alexander, hope to beat him, then fight floyd go 12 (which he would against floyd) - pick up the paycheck and retire,
He lost to Peterson in a fight that could've gone either way. That was no robbery, and if he boxed the way he did early against Garcia he would have got a wide decision. A young fighter should be able to deal with losing a close decision and with all due respect, the Garcia thing just doesn't add up. Garcia is a very beatable champion, and Khan being too eager to get involved when he has no punch resistance is his downfall, nothing else. If you have a fragile chin and want to compete at elite level, you better think with your head and not your heart. He went life and death last night with a guy who everyone knows is a B fighter. You can praise him for not going straight back into the trench after being in trouble last night, but that's like praising me for not walking off a cliff this morning. He's great entertainment and even though I've grown to dislike him after being a fan early on, the truth is he will never ever be an elite fighter.
He looked alot slower than normal to me he could be slowing down but he looks like he has put a lot of muscle on up top so that could be the problem with the speed but the real problems are his chin an punch power he can't keep pressure fighters off him thay take his shots an just keep coming to land there own an he wobbles everytime a good shot is landed i dont get all this talk about mayweather tho that would be a total mismatch Floyd will counter him with a left hook he won't see coming an put him to sleep i just want to see who the going to put him in the ring with next tho it will be Interesting.
I don't think it messed up his mind to be honest. He was angered by it though knew he was robbed and always said it, which is why a rematch was enforced to further confirm a controversy was in place. He was in perfect psychological condition leading up to the rematch and was literally counting the days to the fight till Peterson was caught and the rest is history. Regarding the way he fights, I've been saying this about Khan ever since his sixth professional fight. I've been closely following him since his amateur performances all the way to his 31st professional fight. He's mentally weak and easily moved by what fans say/suggest. He literally opens up to engage to silence twitter losers and queers, that's NOT a mentality of a true professional. If you let fans get into your head then imagine what opponents with actual ability could/would do?, Garcia's father proved that point leading up to that fight. Roach openly stated that he wants Khan to use movement and never engage when he doesn't need to, he has the speed and movement, he doesn't need to engage. Yet, as soon as Khan gets cracked he wants to impress/entertain by further engaging and ends up kissing the canvas and being called a glassed jawed joke for his efforts. Khan is a good fighter but I've said this after the Garcia fight, he's not going far in this sport and Richard Schaeffer is making that clear by looking to have him in a big money fight as soon as possible or else any random opponent will spark that offer off the table for good. By the way, he could hire all the trainers in the world, none would do anything for him when his head has other plans and sadly it's too late to make a major difference now. Mark my words, he will always fight the way he does, get knocked down/out a few more times till he's starched indefinitely into retirement. I just hope that he doesn't get seriously damaged/hurt in the process as I would never wish that on any professional athlete.
Exactly. Sadly he remains unconvinced that he has a bad chin and will continue to try to prove otherwise to impress the heroic champions of twitter(mostly queers and ***gots that can't run to save their mothers if they had to).
Forget Khan's chin for a minute. Apart from his handspeed, his boxing skills will always look very mediocre against decent opposition.
Khan will get shielded all the way to Mayweather...they are hoping Peterson comes out of this tournament. If Garcia or Matthysse face Khan it's KO all over again
It can be easily argued that the Khan of maybe two years ago (before Peterson loss) would have beaten Diaz much more easily, possibly got a stoppage. His offence and speed don't seem as sharp and its as if he is thinking too much in the ring trying to balance his natural style and the style Hunter is manufacturing for him.
