Khan Maidana getting closer Marquez Katsidis

Yeah i hear ya Gaz. I understand that thought. It can be done very easy for Khan but really and truly Maidana is there ripe for taking. You don't need to break him down he's there to be taken out. He doesn't respond well to being attacked. I'm not saying Khan will go flying after him i can just see some brief circling and him just landing with a sharp combination and getting away and Maidana on his arse in middle of ring. I think Khan's nervous energy will come to light in this bout, First time he's in with a real banger. That's his biggest challenge. Battling his focus.

I think if it gets past the feeling out process it will be a Khan ear muffs job as you say Gaz. :good

 

Maidana isn't a mandatory. His stake in the WBA title picture at 140 is, frankly, a ****ing farce.

 

Casa is finished mate. Would be disgusted if Khan was to ever fight him...so would his fans most probably.

 

Yep, Ortiz fought so dumb in that fight it was unreal, the biggest thing i noticed was how he threw almost no jabs, i think i saw only 1. :nut

Losfer's hit the nail on the head really little else to say. Btw three of the best posters on this forum (Mandanda, Losfer and Gaz) are posting in this thread so take note because y'all might learn something...if they're in the mood for teaching of course.

 

One thing is certain mate. If Kahn gets goes for the early KO and gets banjoed by Maidana in the process he'll (rightly) get ripped to shreds on here and by Freddie Roach.

Yeah that's true. I think once Khan gets engaged in to primal caveman type warrior fighting, Some call it, some a tear up and some call it slugging what ever you wanna call it if Khan gets hurt then he's reverting to type and doing exactly that!. It be fun to watch it he did.

I think he will look to use speed, but he's getting very confident recently.....who knows what runs through the mind of Khan...

 

Khan jab is the key (its like a credit card as Teddy keeps telling us!)
He needs it to land with authority to stop Maidana walking through him. No way Khan is going to forget about Prescott and tries to go for the kill in the opening rounds.
Maidana has major power and he was still thundering shots at Kotelnik in the 12th. If Khan loses concentration at any time in this one, he could be up sh*t creek.

I think my earlier posts have been misinterpreted. I'm not saying Khan will go for kill but i can see him catching Maidana early with short and sharp punches and decking him. Maidana is fragile to speed. Khan will look to start fast in terms of using speed of hand and foot. He knows he can land on Maidana even off back foot and will probably wobbled Maidana and that's when he can go for kill.

 

It will be prescott all over again if he tries starting wild and fast. Khan will play it cool, fighting at a distance, and tying up when needed. Eventually breaking maidana down with a few shoe shines.

 

I dont see this as Khans next fight with Maidana fighting this sat. Perhaps he should go for his revenge on Prescott.

 

I think this sums up my thoughts on Khan.
While he has been very impressive since losing to Prescott, especially so against Paulie, I will not be able to fully commit to getting behind khan (no homo) until he gets revenge over prescott.

 

It's probably been said but the way i see it playing out and I'm not a Khan fan or a Maidana fan. I can see Khan frustrating the **** out of Maidana for 3 or 4 rounds with quick one twos and good movement and probably not getting into hairy moments just playing it real safe.

As Maidana gets desperate and realising Khan isn't slowing down i can see a lot more wide shots with Khan countering with more than just his one twos maybe even dropping Maidana a few times forcing the ref for a stoppage. The only big problems i see for Khan is a hail mary, getting over confident or not being used to a solid pressure fighter a type of fighter I haven't seen him in with.

 

Khan should win, but Maidana can put him out with one shot. And Maidana might well be a "plodder" but his hands are not slow even though he does throw very telegraphed and looping shots and he will put constant pressure on that is unlike anything Khan has faced since someone far lower in risk and size like Michael Gomez.

Let's not forget that Ortiz hits harder than Khan too. So I don't see Khan blowing Maidana away early.
